  1. That's interesting that your last Cap was 61. Yes, I agree that some of the later Caps are SO hard to find in grade. For example, your 72 is the lone highest at 8.0, with a trio of 7.0 copies as next best available. I had a nice looking Cap 74 at one time (sold it to Billy) but it had a lot of work on it. It's so funny that you say 28 is your favorite Schomburg, because it's always been MY favorite too (friends could back me up on that). In fact, until about a year ago, I had 4 copies each of 27 & 28! Nothing high grade, but when I saw decent copies at affordable prices, I grabbed them. Your awesome displays have inspired me to snap a few pics of some of my Caps (you and I don't fish the same waters grade-wise), but I don't have a rack and my results aren't that great. I'll post 'em anyway. Gotta switch to my phone. Also interesting point on the Cap 7 AF 15 inspiration. Well Kirby did the cover of AF 15, so he was just doing a call-back to a great cover. Until you pointed it out, I'd never noticed that before! Good eye!
  2. Since I just got this pence copy in, now I have twins!
  3. Look at THIS gang! This copy showed up in the mail yesterday afternoon, courtesy of our very own @Straw-Man Billy! He had contacted to me to see that I didn't have a pence copy (I didn't) and said, "It's on it's way Jimmy!" and BOOM, it showed up just like he said. Now THAT'S a geek right there …. a man among men! Thank you so much Billy Boy! The next time we go to get Cajun Snowballs, it's on my dime!
  4. Wow, these are some VERY hard books to find in high grade. I mean, yeah I see them in 8.0 on occasion, but not in 9.4!!! These are tremendous copies!!! I see that some from each display are pedigrees too!!! I'm not at all surprised about THAT!!! Unbelievably well preserved copies!!! Do any stand out to you as particular favorites? The Schomburg run of 26-29, 31 & 33 are my favorites of this part in the run …. and your copies are smokin'
  5. I was gonna tag you in this Ricky, as I seem to recall you collecting these, but I think you've got super high grade certified copies already, right?
  6. Fanged Marvel Mystery to fanged Captain America.
  7. You're very welcome, thank for sharing it!!! It looks awesome in the holder but those killer pages probably make ya want to thumb it up a bit, I bet. HARD book in nice unrestored condition. You're rocking that Adventure run my friend
  8. That's a fantastic copy Ricky!!! I didn't even know you had one. One of the nicest unrestored copies I've seen!!!
  9. Return of the Frightful Four to the Return of the Badman.
  10. Billy Boy, check THIS out! Someone had the forethought to have Stan sign the BACK of the book! Our own Russell J prefers that to the front cover signature. I was happy to grab this baby off of the Bay when I saw it!! First Doctor Strange cover and all, it's one that a Doctor Strange collector has to have!!!
  11. VERY nice Billy! If you look sharp, you can see a slight wave to my raw copy. I can't be SURE, but it might just possibly be Plantman's personal file copy, although CGC would never note it on the label. Maybe Cat could make me up a spiffy sticker?
  12. This pair of Church Wings books are just exceptional Billy Boy! VERY well done!
  13. Before I got my certified copy, I picked THIS well loved comic up a local show. Rough but affordable.
  14. This has always been a bigger key to me than it gets credit for. I have a pair of mid grade certified copies and a pair of raw copies. A fun, early key book for not a lot of money!
