  1. I like it too and can't recall ever having seen this issue before! Nice Big Apple Billy Boy! I suppose I should check the sales thread for the cast off Ped copy?
  2. Ending on this issue 19, it's Joe Maneely again on cover detail. Not as nice a copy as I'd like, but it'll do for now.
  3. Another Maneely cover here on issue 18 and a decent copy it is.
  4. I have a raw 16 in another box and will post it when I find it, so on to issue 17. A cool Joe Maneely cover on this issue.
  5. On the stands every other month, this is one of the few titles that made it through the rough patch for Marvel.
  6. This copy was out right at the start of the Atlas implosion. Yeah, when it was just Stan by himself, assembling the comics from already finished artwork and him adding the captions and dialogue. Crazy time in comics history!
  7. A pretty rough condition copy, it's a patch until I find another (or am certain that I don't already HAVE one in a different box!!).
  8. I completely understand the need to establish limits in collecting, as I'm constantly pulled in many directions because I love so many genres and eras of comics. I'm sure to most that know me, they'd describe my collecting habits as a squirrel trying to cross an 8 lane freeway! I'm all over the place, but am trying to focus my sights on completing a few things before the cost gets too far out of hand. I agree that if you truly love these comics that the crossover appeal should make these Other Nation publications interesting to you. In fact, that's the reason I turned an eye toward them, that and the rarity. I thought about the possible negative backlash of starting this thread, as it pertains to price, but my overwhelming desire to share them with other collectors won out in the end. If seeing this thread influences even one collector to take up collecting these comics, well that's a win in my book. People collect comics (and other things) for many different reasons. Some only want certified books and are content to look at the covers through the holders. Others want mainly raw books so they can feel the books in their hands, smell the old paper aroma and, of course, READ them. One of the side benefits to collecting these Mexican publications is that I really enjoy seeing the differences between them and their American issue counterparts. It really does add a different dimension to the experience. I have comics from all over the world and sometimes it just amazes me that our beloved funny books have reached so many shores across the globe. As funny as this might sound, another side benefit is that my Spanish has improved slightly as well, since I started buying these! That's right kids, comics can be educational too!!!
  9. Tales of Suspense #61 Mexican publication, Fantucchio pedigree copy.
  10. Well I HAVE been saying "publication" instead of "Edition" going forward. Most of the copies I have are raw, only a handful certified, however I HAVE been seeing more and more of them over the last few years being graded. I think they're starting to attract a following in the hobby, which is great, but I AM feeling a lot more competition when I'm trying to buy more. GREAT for the hobby, more challenging to acquire quality copies for me and others.
  11. La Prensa Fantastic Four #44. Like the comic posted above, the little pieces on the upper front cover were folded back down without any injury to the comic.
  12. Fantastic Four #43 Mexican publication. Pics are from the auction when I bought it. The upper right corner on the front cover was folded back down without incident when it arrived.
  13. Very cool, thanks for sharing that! That scan looks just fine, better than most pics that I share!
  14. World of Fantasy American publication to World of Fantasy Mexican publication.
