There's been a Jimmy sighting. And Jimmy has some nice books (thumbs u
Indeed ..... it's me!!! Thanks Ricky, but I thought "nice books" was your middle name??

Any love for a nice low grade #37?

It's true. It went from him to me, then back to him, then to Ricky. Now to you. The next question is: who are YOU going to sell it to?? (I'm interested ......)I'd like to thank MrBedrock for all his help with this book. I bought this book raw from Richard without seeing it in person. Richard judged the book to be about a VG. He prepped the mylar for the Signature Series signing and lugged the book with him all the way to the Baltimore-Con for drop-off with Sean (NYComics) for the signing at Joe Simon's home. As you can see, Richard nailed the grade, and I'm pretty pleased with the end result (it even kind of glows now).Frisco-Man and Xavier Logan both claim to be past owners of this book, so the book seems to keep finding its way back to this neck of the woods.

Hello indeed William Henry Parker IIIfrisco-man doubled his yearly output on this page! hello, young man. -
Sounds like fun Gator, but are you sure your delicate southern system could handle the potential chilled temperature not to mention the frozen particles of water vapor that fall to Earth in the form of soft, white flakes?hey frisco "man"...get with xavier logan and see if you 2 can find a vikings football game this fall with my former Gator Percy Harvin playing, and I will fly up! 143ksk might want to go too?...just need a line on some tix -
Damn nice haul Roy, ya lucky you ;P You know I don't get on here much, but that cache is worth commenting onIt was a monumental weekend for me. I took delivery of my Marvel Comics #1, my Marvel Mystery Comics #9 and also picked up the Lloyd Jacquet file copy of Marvel Mystery Comics #6 this weekend in Philly. The Marvel #1 was a 25 year dream. Thanks to Bedrock for getting me addicted almost 3 years ago and taking my money ever since. He's a real gentleman.
I know you've seen these enough but allow me one more time. The weekend was a little surreal as I couldn't really enjoy each book individually. It was a lot of sensory overload. I'll try to get over it.
Also kudos to Rick for working with me on the #9.
Yes that's me holding the book of books with my bare hands and I'd have it no other way.

A word of caution: He has a dog that will go right for your scrotum .... I'm just sayin' .....You know, when I see a book like this it makes me want to just give up.
Thanks Roy.
But a book like that makes me want to live...I WANT TO LIVE!!!!
It's just a temporary give up. Then I get a second wind and plan my attack on Texas.
-
Roy, I've seen this book in person many times and it's enough to make you cry .... TEARS OF JOY !!!!!! You could literally SHAVE in the reflective glow of that bright yellow ....You know, when I see a book like this it makes me want to just give up. I mean seriously...that is just plain sick.

Consider me drawn Roy (by Schomburg of course)Very nice, very nice. I'm surprized the boards aren't going crazy over this book Russ. I guess it can only be that they are all envious ...We were just trying to draw you out of hiding.

You can say that againWell, let's jump start this thread with a bang.A little book I picked up in a deal I made this past weekend. This is my girlfriend Louise holding it for me as I take a picture of it.
This is a scan of the book without the lady.
oh, my goodness. oh, my. oh, dear.
OH S____!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had that one years and years ago, but don't remember the details of the story.
I think I traded mine away on a Freakies cereal box ?!?!
-
No caped heroes, but the 'back covers' are terrific and the books themselves hard core Timelys....
Thanks for sharing Jon. You just put 2 more books on my want list. Chasing the Timely funny animal and humor books can be a challenge, especially if you want them in grade. I love that Joker #2

As long as it is yellow and red, it can be just about anything and I like it. But these two, make it extra special
I'd appreciate a pm if that Subby decides to relocate. Bill Everett is an all time favorite and that cover shows why.
Thanks Jimmy. To round out my trio of yellow and red Timely's, I present another of your favorites
Another nice one Billbo!! Any work on that gem?

Surely you're confusing me with another of the Geeks .....

I picked this one up not too long ago - love the mace to Tojo's head and the look on Hitler's and Mussolini's faces:
Nice grab!!! Despite the fact that Knuckles is about to walk with a limp, I think his aim is going to make that "flail" feel like a scalp massage. Great book

Here is some close-ups of my new yellow and red friends.
Nice pick-ups Billbo!!!! You gotta admit, it's pretty hard to resist a pretty Timely, even for an old DC dog like you .....

Merry Christmas Jimbo. Sounds like you are having a lovely one indeed
Right back atcha Billbo. We are indeed having a fine Christmas. I trust you'll pass along a hug to the female Ponseti's for me?!?! (thumbs u

Thanks Billy-boy. I hope you are having a dandy Christmas!!! My lovely daughter and I are watching cartoons and I took a little break to post some books. Here's a book that I won just prior to the Twin Cities geekfest, but it didn't arrive until after the 2 southern geeks left town. One of Billy's favorites to be surenot an easy book at all, jimmy. it was my last one, and one of ricky's missing two before he liquidated the run. very well done young man.
and a wonderful holidays to you, too, jimmy. now lean over and smooch that darling girl and tell it was from the elder geek, who is still not quite over having not seen her in october.
It has been done and it has been said. She voiced an annoyance of her own to the not seeing you as well. In addition, she is requesting my return to the sofa for more cartoons and snacks (our turkey sandwiches have been consumed). That's my red and yella contribution for today ..... I'm out for now ....... MERRY CHRISTMAS FELLOW BOARD MEMBERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
