You don't consider THIS cheating, do you? Sorry about the dim lighting, but I just snapped these quick.

WOW!!!! Thank you so much for posting this!!! This is the cleanest example I've seen of this pinback!!! If by any chance you see or acquire another one and can point me in the direction of one, I'd really appreciate it!!! I used to have a New Fun #3 and really liked the New Fun mascots, so these pinbacks and any other related "Fun Club" materials are of big interest to me!!! Thanks again!!!

I've been looking for a particular pinback and have had zero luck in finding one. I'm wondering, do you have one of these in your collection? I can't remember if this was Jon Berk's pic or yours.

Unpopular Golden Age Opinions Thread!
Frisco Larson replied to Point Five's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
I guess THIS is as close as I'll get to a Daring Mystery #2 for a while. Oh well, at least I get the front cover! -
This is fun @bc!!! I'm glad Lou jumped in here too!!!

Unpopular Golden Age Opinions Thread!
Frisco Larson replied to Point Five's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
Dang it!!! It isn't. At first, I was excited, thinking maybe you saw one on there, but when I went to check, no real issue #2. -

I agree Cat, that Cap #37 is an enormous highlight once the comics get small and I'm sure that most would agree that Cap #46 deserves to be mentioned in the same echelon!!! Those are two HUGE examples of there still being great covers after the comics shrink and eventually reduce to one staple (SOMEWHERE in that timeframe! I had two Cap #54s, one had 1 staple, one had 2!). I've only owned one copy of Cap #37 and sold it at the aforementioned time. I never DID acquire a Cap #46, as during my tenure of building the Cap run with enthusiasm, it was always quite a bit more expensive than all of the surrounding issues and just generally expensive in regard to what I was able to lay out cash-wise. The other BIG FAT Schomburg Cap covers we haven't discussed are the first two by him, #3 & #4, both of which are incredible and VERY expensive these days. I've had the 4 (and a nice mid-grade copy of it), but I've never owned a Cap #3.

Batman and Detective Show Us Yours!
Frisco Larson replied to nearmint's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
This is the inside back cover of More Fun #21 and it features one of my favorite early Detective covers! I know this thread is mostly Bat-oriented, but I figure the pre-Bat Detective covers are probably ok to post too. -

Frisco Larson replied to Tbone911t's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
Your collection was amazing Ian!!! Despite the fact that you miss them and wish things would've gone differently in the sale of them, I'd still like to congratulate you on doing what nobody else has ever been able to do!!! You made history and will likely be remembered in the hobby for all time by doing so!!! Kudos to you Sir!!! -
Have a Cigar! Golden Age only....!
Frisco Larson replied to Shield's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
Well, I remember Billy snapping a pic of his entire Marvel Mystery run and he had to get high up (on a staircase, if memory serves) to be able to get them all in the one shot. I'd love to see it if you can find a way to make it happen! -

#30 was a Syd Shores cover, but then #31 comes out with a spectacular Schomburg rarity ... Cap saving a damsel in distress!!! Look back over the run (or ANY Cap cover from another run) and see that Cap rarely saves a woman in trouble ... he mostly rescues Bucky! This one is also in my top 5 favorite covers in the GA Cap run!
