  1. I live at 42nd and Red River (about 1.5 miles from UT campus)
  2. > If its in Austin, TX, maybe It is. Must be Austin Books, then.
  3. Hmm. I noticed the same thing at my LCS a few weeks ago (didn't do me any good since I already have a full set of ECs). Maybe we're talking about the same LCS?
  4. They reprinted the run recently Witchcraft Actually, that was not a reprint of the entire run of Witchcraft. It did reprint #2, along with the following stories: The Nine Horrors (The Unseen #5) The Vengeance Vat (Unseen #8) Scream in the Night (Unseen #13) Ghost on the Gallows (Mysteries Weird and Strange #4) The Vampire Goes West (Tales of Horror #13) The Little Children (Tales of Horror #13) The Hungry Lodger (?) The Ring of Horror (?) and two one-pagers: The Devil's Stones and The Accursed. I don't know the source for the last 4 (they didn' identify any of the sources). Anyone out there know where they came from? I don't think they came from Witchcraft as I know all the story titles from those except for one from #6.
  5. If you just want to read the stories, Strange Mysteries #18 by I.W./Super reprinted Witchcraft #1 and should be a lot cheaper (though not necessarily easier to find).
  6. Hello, Don't know if this is appropriate for this forum or not, but thought I'd give it a try. I have just gotten back into horror comics after a couple of decades and have been reading through my collection. I am interested in pre-code stuff and I get a lot of pre-code reprints (Tales Too Terrible to Tell, Seduction of the Innocent, IW/Super, AC Comics etc.), but the publishers often don't identify the source of their material. I identified 90% of them, but there are a few I haven't been able to identify and wondered if any of you you knew the source. I can provide plot summaries if needed. I checked GCD, of course, but their pre-code indexing (other than E.C., ACG, Harvey, DC and a few others) seems scant. Anyway, here are some I couldn't ID: From Crypt of Horror by AC Comics: The Black Crows - from the splash panel it seems to obviously be an Atlas story, but it isn't listed on the Atlas Tales web page, which I thought was comprehensive). The House That Death Built Doom at the Wheel (this one was also done by Eerie pubs) The Third Ghost Scram No More My Lady (another Eerie one) The Grim Unreality Your Coffin is Waiting Sir (antoher Eerie one) Monsters of the Mind A few that were reprinted in Skywald Ballast of Gold (Heap #1) When the Sea Goes Dry (ditto) Danse Macabre (Nightmare #1) The Creature Within (ditto) I didn't have as much luck trying to identify non-ACG stuff from Stanley Publications - probably got about half of them. I think that Stanley did almost all, if not all, Gillmor (Merit, Key Publications, Stanmor etc) and ACG reprints but maybe some of their stories were unpublished leftovers. In some cases, however, they seem to have changed the titles (i.e. changing Hunger to You Look Good Enough to Eat). Eventually, I'd like to index the Stanley and Eerie Pubs stuff for GCD (along with the remaining Charlton bronze age stuff and the few pre-code ones I have that aren't indexed) since they are so poorly indexed right now. Here are the Stanley Pubs ones I didn't find (sorry for the length): Ghostly Revenge Howl of the Hunter The Devil on Your TV Dial The Man Who Tried to Live Forever True Zombies of History The Night People The Curse of the Pirate's Gold Te HAtchet Man The Curse of the Zamboori Shadow in the Mist The Sleep of Death Death Was the Only Witness The Black Cat From Hell The Devil Walks on Halloween The Lost Secret of the Ancient Garden The Wizard Who Wiped Out Time His Final Choice The Disguise Thanks for any help you can provide
