I think it'll be Qualified only if it's an unwitnessed signature on the cover. It'll be Universal with maybe a small grade deduction if the signature is on the interior pages. But you're right, it probably should've been noted - "name written on first interior page."

See this example from my collection.

Thank you. Should I send it back? I mean, if I decide to sell, you’ll never know the sig is there??

    Sure Thing

"We are writing you today with sad and unfortunate news, that due to George Perez's health CGC will no longer be able to host this signing. Our thoughts are with George and his family during this difficult and private time. So many fans have submitted books for this final signing with George Perez and we know all will be heartbroken with this news. And with that we appreciate your patience as we try to work through all of your submissions and get your valued collectibles back into your hands.

CGC has a few options for you to consider. Please reply to this email and let us know which option you would like to proceed with.

Option 1 - You can have your book graded as regular Universal grade with no signature. If you select this option, CGC will lower the grading fee by $5 per book.

The George Perez label is still available with a Universal grade. If you selected this originally, we will keep it on your order.

Shipping and handling fees will still apply.

Option 2 – You may have your book routed to another Private Signing with Marv Wolfman or Jim Starlin.

If you selected a George Perez label originally, we will keep it on your order.

Shipping and handling fees will still apply.

Option 3 - We will return your book(s) to you RAW - ungraded.

CGC will return your collectibles using the original shipping method selected on your order form. If you select this option, CGC will cover the cost of return shipping.

Option 4 - If your books(s) were previously graded and cracked out, CGC will reholder your book(s) and return them to you.

If you selected a George Perez label, you will be charged for the label, but there will be no charge for the reholder

CGC will return your collectibles using the original shipping method selected on your order form. If you select this option, CGC will cover the cost of return shipping.

In all cases (except Option #2,) CGC will refund all signature fees paid.

Please respond back at your earliest convenience and let the Signature Series team know your preferred option. We will process your submission as quickly as we can. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Thank you for participating in this event to remember and commemorate the incredible legacy of George Perez"

Does anyone know if these books will be graded and returned with signature TAT’s or standard TAT’s?

My submission went from "Received @ CCS" to "CCS In Process". Does this mean it is being pressed already or is it kind of like scheduled for grading where it's in line?

My books were delivered (Modern FT) on 6/17/21 and moved to CCS in Process on 8/12/21 (was charged for pressing in mid-October) where they still sit. Recently sent some books to a 3rd party presser and the were delivered on 2/2/22. Betting that the 2nd set of books will be graded and back in my hands before the first set.

That it is in CCS Pressing and waiting it's turn to be processed. Which could take up to 157 working days and once it is done there it still has another 57 working days in grading. So you are still looking at 6 to 8 months of processing. I have one that has been in CCS Processing since 08/04/21 and has been in CGC's hands since June 3rd.

Once they charge you for the CCS it goes in to CCS in Process mode. At least that is what happened with mine and it was sitting as received.

They were delivered to CGC on 6/17 and then showed “received at CCS” for 3-4 weeks before status changed to process. Those 157 days should start on 6/17 according to other posts I’ve read, right? It’s a shame.

Nope. If things were flipped, you wouldn't want CGC giving your personal information out to a complete stranger, would you?

"...if you have the submission or order number" was her quote. I could pull a thousand cert numbers off any auction site and claim they were mine.

And once you did that??? Come on man…

Not really sure that I’m asking for personal info, but I just want to know where my books are in the process since my LCS acts like he doesn’t want to be bothered.

  9. So since they are being sent back to the LCS I can’t do anything but wait. You can’t look up my cert number and tell me the status? I’m sure there are notes somewhere in your system referencing my cert numbers.

  10. I sent in 4 books through my LCS to be graded in March. Fast forward to mid-July and the 4 graded books came back with new damage, bottom left corner.  LCS owner contacts CGC and they "admit" fault and they are willing to clean and press the damaged books and even send a shipping label. Not really happy, but OK we'll see how it goes. Fast forward another 3 weeks and the books are returned to my LCS with nothing done to them?? He was told that the person he spoke with no longer works for CGC. LCS owner makes arrangements to get them cleaned, pressed, and re-graded again. As of last week the books are “scheduled for grading”. My questions are:

    1. If I call in to CGC with the cert numbers, can I get they status of these 4 books?

    2. Will they get a new cert number once they are re-graded?

    Thank you.

I just received a batch of 25 books I sent off back in March.

About half of them seem to have a similar defect:  Crunched up on the top rear left corner.

For the life of me, I think I would've noticed this before I sent them off?  Maybe, I'm mistaken but I don't think so.

Have you ever had comics come back with a similar defect that you were, almost certain, they didn't have before?

    Thanks for any input.

Just saw this post and I had the same thing happen to me. Sent in 6 books through my LCS, 2 clean and press and the rest graded. Thankfully one of the clean and press was my Hulk 181 and since it was express it came back OK. fast forward to mid-July and the 4 graded books come back with new damage, bottom left corner similar to the photos in this thread. LCS owner contacts CGC and they "admit" fault and they are willing to clean and press the damaged books and even send a shipping label. Not really happy, but OK we'll see how it goes. Fast forward another 3 weeks and the books are returned to my LCS with nothing done to them?? LCS owner calls CGC and the person he discussed this with no longer works there? They apologize for the screw up and ask him to send the books back and they'll clean, press and reholder them. I, like another post have had the books for 40 years. Never took them out until I decided for the first time to grade a few of my fav's. The 2nd clean and press (X-Men 100) still hasn't been returned.

I read a lot of comments from others that have way more experience than I do when it comes to CGC, etc... I sent in 25 books in June before I knew of this issue. I just hope that they get their together before they touch those books.

  12. Would the notes from the grader or the pressing have any indication if this is possible? Since I submitted this through my LCS, were they notified of the restoration prior to the comic being encapsulated?

  13. Just received the grade and notes for my Hulk 181. It graded out at a 9.0 - C-1. To my surprise the book had been color touched on the front cover before I purchased it over 40 years ago. The book is currently in transit to me, but I wanted to know if CGC, based on the book being graded on 5/24, can tell me if this book is a candidate for restoration removal? Will I have to send it in and it’ll have to be screened?
