Silver age comics that are heating up

Audemars Piguet are teaming up with Marvel, apparently their CEO is a long time friend of Don Cheadle (War Machine) so we might all be collecting watches as well soon lol. -
What's new in your Silver Age collection this week
Wreck-It Ralph replied to Silver's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
Just took delivery of these two today, had a nightmare finding a JIM85, this was the only one I could find so had to settle for a Lower grade and a Yellow label which is the first signed one I have in my collection. The guy had a 8.0 signed TTA35 which I would have bought but the placement of the signature was bad so I settled for another 7.0 Blue Label. -

I think they will continue to Spike until the Pandemic ends assuming that ever happens as many people have considerably more disposable income due to not travelling, certainly is my biggest annual expense and I have not been on a plane for over a year. -

If Interest rates do go negative then you will see a boom as people with large sums of money could withdraw it and put it into a safety deposit box but more likely they will put it into something that is appreciating, easy to manage and easily disposable, combine that with people selling up Bitcoin and you got yourself a Perfect Storm! -

My primary collecting focus is Star Wars Action Figures, I collect Palitoy 12,20 and 30 Backs I own most of them and what I don’t have is crazy rare so it is a waiting game even if you have the money to buy them as collectors are very reluctant to sell what can’t be replaced. I got into comics as I bought a X Men 1 back in 2015 as I loved the film X Men First Class, I also unsuccessfully tried to buy TOS39 at the time in an 8.0 as I also love the Ironman film and the not buying of that book has been a thorn in my side since. I saw both books increase in price and became more interested in comics and started buying a few, 40 or so, some valuable some not, a couple of years ago. I got back into recently after someone mentioned on Facebook or a Star Wars forum how buoyant the Comic book market was. The only stock investment I do is via my pension and I don’t do that the financial advisor does, they often show me growth graphs which are pure fiction so it is not something I hold much faith in. I prefer to invest in tangible things like property that either offer a high yield or high capital appreciation or in a perfect world both. For the most part Star Wars MOC especially in the Palitoy market is a terrible investment as almost everything, especially the rare items are sold privately resulting in no benchmarks being set and no price increases. Prices could be dropping and no one would know as private sales do not create any sales data. I buy it because I love it not to make money. The same applies to comics as I enjoy owning them as it links to some of the films I love which I have great nostalgia for. I would only sell them in the future if I lost the love for them as I am not buying them to make money. I am however very interested in not overpaying hence the GPA analysis and buying the comics that I like and offer the greatest growth potential hence some of my investor like questions. -

For me it is all about the films if I like the film I will want the comic as that is where it started. I also like appreciating assets especially when Interest rates are at the lowest point in history with the possibility in going negative. I have no nostalgia for the comic itself as I have never read them and everything I own is graded so I never will. -

Sounds like a cool book to own if it is the Silver Age equivalent of AC1. -

Do you think TOS 52 & 57 offer good value now, do you think it is a good time to invest in these books? -

When I bought my XMen1 5 years ago TOS39 was the same price as it, but now there seems to be a big price difference is that because XMen 1 is hot at the moment or has TOS39 cooled off since Ironman was killed off in Avengers Endgame? As of now do you think AF15 offers more growth than TOS 39? I have signed up to GPA and Go Collect how reliable are these services for current prices as I had to pay above what they said on my recent purchase of JIM 85, is that me overpaying or them supplying out of date data? I am currently looking to buy from EBay, Comic Link, Comic Connect and Heritage is there anywhere else you would suggest looking for Key Comics? Sorry about all the questions and I appreciate your time in answering them. Apologies if my posts are provocative in anyway, that is not intentional. I presume asking investor type questions is OK? -

I only joined this forum today but while scrolling through the threads one is about the drop in price of AF 15? I also noticed some prices for AF15 which seemed reasanoble in a speculative market. I am not looking for an argument with anyone I just want to know if you think it is a favourable time to buy an AF15 as when it comes to comics I am more investor than collector. -

I am looking for an X Men 4 7.0 - 8.0 has anyone seen one? -
Anyway thanks for your help guys!
-
Thanks, just saw other people talking about other books so I presumed it was cool!

Sorry I have only just joined and not very knowledgable, I am an action figure collector with a few comics who heard AF15 was losing its flavour so thought now might be a good time to buy, hence my questions.
