one of the cards in this sub didn’t get a numbered grade. just got slabbed as authentic. anyone know why?

have a submission that was marked received on jan 8. it still hasn’t moved past received, but i’m sure the wait time is because the cards aren’t in the database and they’re researching it. wonder how long it’s gonna take

from my understanding it has to do with the types of cards sent.

CGC has modern graders, and they have vintage graders. (yes, some can grade both but i'm assuming there are more modern graders than vintage)

there are also graders that are more specialized in different TCGs, sports, etc.

Some graders are more backed up than others. High value cards probably get looked at by more graders.

a lot of variations here.

there is a point in tracking turnaround times, but maybe we should specify what exactly is in our subs.

my 3 card economy has been in GEI a little over a week now. i see some subs fly in and out of GEI. i'm assuming mine is taking a bit longer because i have a 2004 animal crossing card, and there are 0 pop. other 2 cards are vintage japanese pokemon and vintage yugioh.

could be depending on the type of cards submitted, could be because of the total number of cards in the submission, or could be just luck.

i feel like scaling operations for demand is kind of a hard thing to do / takes time to find graders that meet their grading standards. maybe they could offset a backlog by having graders that are on-call whenever they experience a surge. or maybe part-time graders?

it was for TCG. my fault! just found it. must have been looking in the wrong place.

i know this technically isn't the right board for this, but a turnaround thread for cards doesn't exist.

i submitted a card order to CGC, was delivered on oct 6 and it has yet to be opened / on my dash

i see comic orders are opened within 5 days. hopefully it gets put on my dash soon.

sub was sitting at G/QC all day yesterday and it just went back to GEI today. hopefully that doesn’t mean a grade drop 🫠

i'll peek at the results, but i won't see the scans. i'll leave that as a surprise for the delivery day since i got a remarque

talk about coincidence. my bagley just moved to GEI

anyone have any bagley signing movement? no CCS on mine and i'm still SFG

just got my mechanical error back.

so they did end up pressing my book…..

but they forgot to put the custom label i paid for.

at this point i don’t even think it’s worth the effort sending back.

Your newly slab book with fresh damage after grading and slabbing/QC fail #1.

Before sending the book over to them, the customer service rep on the phone assured me it would be pressed. she even sent me a written email i could print out and place in the package. i really do hope it was repressed. i wouldn't even mind if they contacted me and told me i needed to PAY for the pressing (instead of just instantly reslabbing the book with a lower grade without contacting me about it).
