    So last week they pulled one of my Magazine modern books out and set it up as a modern submission. It is the same size (magazine size) and type as the other books in the magazine modern submission so who knows what criteria they use. Either way it will need a magazine slab and the Magazine Modern submission has been sitting in GEI for about 10 days now.

    No emails other than the original email when received into the system. I am overseas and the package is now in the country and should be delivered in the next couple of days and the status still has not changed from Grading/Quality Control.

    Looks like my order in Quality Control has actually shipped and is half way back to me. Clicking on the status takes me to the tracking. Still can't see the grades on the books though.

    Mine was "received" yesterday after being delivered on July 21, so just under 2 weeks.

    The tear is very small and runs perpendicular to the edge and then a color breaking crease that runs down from there.

    I has a small tear on the right hand edge front cover, but I am more interested in how the vertical lines on the front and back cover may effect the grade or if they are manufacturing defects. I have 2 copies and both seem to have these same lines on both the front and back covers that go the full length of the book. They appear flat and not like creases.

    This is my first submission. When does the grade appear against the books? Is it after the grading step or not until after QA?

    My standard shipped marked with ST was delivered on 28/4 to CGC. It still is not showing in submissions. Is the approximate turn around time on standard (10 days) from the time it gets processed into submissions or when it's received at the warehouse?

    My first submission to CGC. It was delivered on 28/4. Do you get an email or text indicating when it gets opened (received) and when it changes status?

    My standard submission was delivered to CGC on 28/4 and is not yet showing in submissions.

    It's not so much the shipping but avoiding paying the GST (10%) on books that I already own. So if the raw book is $5k and I have purchased it within Australia previously then I have already paid the GST on the item. I want to ensure avoiding paying GST of $500 on it when it comes back through customs which is the normal process.

    I was considering submitting some books to CGC but have some questions regarding whether it's worth the cost and how GST and import declarations work when items are sent back.

    I have seen a lot of people using the model you mentioned, but I was wondering why the T-shirt presses should be avoided? As long as the pressure can be applied evenly and the temperature adjusted to the desired temp what else should be considered?

    I live overseas and shipping can be quite expensive. I was wondering if there was a way that a bulk purchase of raw books from a seller (could be private or auction house) in the US could send the books after purchase for pre-screening and submission for CGC grading before they are then sent internationally.

    I decided 2 months ago after a long period where I stopped collecting to get back and try to complete my ASM run including AF15. During the last 8 weeks since I started looking the prices on some key books are up over 50%. Guess I was a few months too late. Now I have to decide whether to buy into this price cycle or wait to see if it drops back some.
