Grades are in for the first 2 Unlimited Tier books! About what I expected! So all in all these got graded pretty quick and are being shipped back to me soon!
edit: Yes, Shiverbones! Yup, almost positive the MS5 came from Shiverbones. And I wanna say I paid maybe $100-$150! This is at least 10 years ago.

I remember Roger and his stores very well. For decades he had a store on 14th street between 7th and 8th avenue and you had to walk upstairs to get into it. As soon as you walked in there was an old beat up couch inside the store. I asked him one day why he had the couch in the store. He said that when he first opened adults could rest on the couch while their kids browsed through the boxes of comics. Now twenty years later with the demographic changes in who bought old comics the reversed happened. Now he said the kids rest on the couch while their parents look through the boxes and buy old comics. He moved the store to 6th Avenue near 9th street but I'm pretty sure that store closed years ago. He was an old time comics guy who had a cool personality and his type of store is definitely missed.
haha yes! I went up there many times. Cool guy. I don't recall the couch but I believe it. haha. I would have frequented there around 2008-2012 or so

I would recommend that you reinforce the books with extra backing boards. I have been doing this based on a suggestion from my brother. He felt that the books were getting small light creases from being handled in receiving and before the graders get a hold of them. We both have noticed an uptick in higher grades since we started.
Well this is just insane. I hear you, and YOU'RE not insane. But it's insane the people who are grading your books could be mishandling them that often. Of course stuff happens here and there, we are all humans.. mostly.

Hey guys, I thought maybe some of you would be interested in living vicariously through my excitement for my first submission to CGC in over 10 years. These books have been in my collection for 15-20+ years. Only 1 (the Hulk 180) has been pressed (by Joeypost like ~10 years ago..?). I didn't bother with pressing any others as I don't really think any of them would have benefitted greatly. Depending how this round goes I'll probably submit some more books from the oooool' collection in upcoming months. Here are the book and the grades I'm expecting:
Hulk 180: Pressed by Joeypost some years ago. I think this is a solid ~8.0 - 8.5
Tec 388: Stupidly nice. Call me crazy but I don't think a 9.6 is out of the question
Avengers: Another stupidly nice. Another 9.6 wouldn't surprise me
Iron Fist 14: Really nice. I remember I posted this in "Can you spare a grade" and got responses up to 9.6. That might be too hopeful, but I wouldn't be surprised with a 9.4.
Hero for Hire 1: Thes eblack borders are tough. I think this could be an 8 - 8.5 or so
SME 15: Shang Chi! Very crisp and white! Sharp. Could be a 9.4 or better.
\
Belive I bought this off ft88 years ago as a straight NM. I don't disagree. Could be a 9.6.
Batman 227: Another tough black cover. A few spins ticks and a small corner crease. 8.5?
Marvel Spotlight 5: Nice. Bought from ... the guy who does Halloween art here on the boards. Pumpkins and such? Forgetting the name! Bought it from him years ago as a VF and I think that's about right.
Daredevil 168. Super nice. 9.6, dare I say better?
Batman Annual 1: Do any of you guys remember Roger who had a store in Chelsea (NYC) years ago? I don't believe he's there anymore. Anyways, I traded in a few boxes of comics back in the day for this book. It's really nice and crisp. Has a light crease on the front at the top. Despite this I think it could get an 8.0.
Anyways, I thought it would be fun to post these and see what happens. I can't say I went over these with a fine tooth comb in recent years, so it's possible I've missed something, but thought these were worth submitting in any case. We'll see what happens!

You have great offerings obviously. Here and elsewhere, it does seem to be a buyer’s market for now. Good luck on the house.
Thank you sir!

Hi all! Saving up to maybe buy a house. I've sold and bought here plenty, most recently a DD 1 maybe about a year ago.
FYI: Some of these slabs have Newton Rings.
Shipping will be $10 for one book, additional $5 for additional book. Paypal accepted. I will pack very securely!
Please ask for more pics/details if you want. NO returns on these as they are all slabbed except for 2 formerly slabbed.
Please no HOSers, weirdos, creeps
