Hello! I am thinking about buying an ASM 15 but am uncertain about whether or not it has mold on bottom right corner of the back cover (see attached picture). Does anyone have any thoughts? If it is mold, would encapsulating it keep it from spreading or would it continue to deteriorate? Thanks so much for any help you can give!

Thoughts on grade? I'm especially curious how much the small tear on the back would affect it. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks! Yeah, I'm pretty happy!

Thanks! And, yes, I had CCS press and clean. I think the book looking better in the video is a combination of both the cleaning helping along with the scanner settings. And, I think you are right...not sure exactly how much they hit the book for the tape, but they surely didn't consider it a complete spine split. Based on how the book looks, my completely educated guess is that they have a policy that a book with tape like that maxes out at a 3. But who knows haha? Thanks again!

The grader's notes mentioned "tape on spine" so I assume that means that it had at least some impact.

Thanks! I appreciate it!

I don't have the book in hand right now, but there is certainly some spine roll. Thanks for your comment!

Unfortunately, I don't know but those are some great points to consider. Thanks!

I've been wondering the same thing. Do you think the tier level impacts the way the graders view the book, or are they able to remain objective (or are even unaware of the tier level the book was submitted under). I've got some books that I bought for less than $400, so I'm fine for insuring them for that amount since I'd get my money back if something ends up happening to them, but their FMV could be a bit higher than that amount depending on the grade. However, I'm concerned the graders will say, "Oh, he submitted under economy tier. Well, I'm on the fence of this being a 6.5 or 7.0, but I guess I'll give it the 6.5 since the customer is declaring it's worth less than $400." I'm getting ready to submit my first batch of books, so any help would be appreciated! -
Thanks for taking a look...I'll try to be more careful next time!

I'll try to get some better ones soon. In the meantime, do you know if there is a way to delete a post? Thanks and sorry for the noob question
