  1. Lovely. Well all I can do is hope right now and remember ultimately that I paid 25 cents for it in 1974 and it has been well read over the years.
  2. I have nothing to lose because as you say I have nothing to lose because if they pay attention great. If they don't they would never notice it. They are doing a press and clean anyway, so we'll see if it lasts through that. However, perhaps you can suggest help on downsizing the "fragile" submission box. They sent me a package with a large box when I only am sending one book in. It's 8 inches high. Way more than I need.
  3. So would a sticky note like this do the job? I have the same situation. Also, I am thinking it's better to keep it in its current mylar bag than the poly they sent me, to avoid more friction.
  4. @MPH1964 I like your positive train of thought since this book keeps increasing in value, @Jim M your gastronomic direction, and @ADAMANTIUM your positivity. You have all inspired me to write this riff (with respect) on my new CGC journey channeling Green Lantern's oath: In brightest day in blackest night, No blemish shall escape their sight, Let those who seek a book that's "right" Embrace the power of CGC's might!
  5. @Jim MI certainly hope the grader is in a good mood. Maybe I should include some cookies? 🤔
  6. Seeing it posted now, it is much brighter than it looks here.
  7. UPDATE: I got the grade back from my Hulk 181, but while the slab is in transit, and I'm still waiting for final images, I liked a suggestion by @AnhDepTraiif anyone wants a final shot at seeing how close they come to the CGC score after pressing. I'll post the result as soon as I have it in my hands. Btw, I used Spot on Grading app to help me estimate my grade and it was only .5 off. *************************** I have owned this Hulk 181 since 1974 and it was well read, but has been protected for the last 30 years. It is structurally in solid shape, all pages well connected, has the Marvel value stamp, colors are good, but it does have a number of issues, which I have tried to highlight in these pics. I am submitting the book to CCS for pressing before I have it graded. RFC: has a crease/fold about 3/4" long at the corner at about a 75 degree angle LLFC: has small 1/16" flap tear still attached near the bottom left corner, which itself is blunted. LFC: There are a number of spine ticks along the left edge. LFC: There is one small section of a few vertical lines of break in color crossing Wolverine's left arm. LBC: There is a 1/8 inch tear missing at the bottom of the page and visible on the inside back cover. Finally, inside there are 4 pages that each have two small parallel 1/16" page nicks at the bottom of those pages. (see example on page 17). I appreciate your grading opinions, as well as whether you would sell or keep this once it is slabbed. Thank you.
  8. Yes. I have been on the road since yesterday when my submission was approved, and didn't try to print the packing slip until just now, and of course, I got error messages, Null etc. What does this mean????????????
  9. I finally was able to submit my book for grading today. Thankfully whatever was the problem cleared up enough.
  10. Joined as a premier member Completed form for grading and pressing, have entered payment, am ready to submit, don't see any of the $150 in credits or 10% Tier credits. where are they? Will they show up if I continue past the payment page?
  11. Are their servers crashing from last minute submissions and peope joining?
  12. I am having the exact same problem, and I just paid $149 for the premier membership this afternoon so I can submit a comic by the 28th. I went to the customer service page and tried chatting for help. That only wanted to send me to yet another site that requires payment for help (supposedly refundable). That's outrageous. If I can't get through, there is no point to having this membership now and I will demand a refund.
  13. Thanks for the quick and definitive response. One more question. How do you suggest I value the comic? FMV keeps going through the roof. It is well read but complete and in reasonable shape considering...
  14. I had been planning on submitting my well read, complete Hulk 181 for grading before the fee change annoucement, and my LCS thought it would benefit from pressing. So I planned on sending to CCS first for pressing then have it graded by CGC. If I understand correctly, with their new timetable on changes I can join before the 28th and benefit from the current fees as long as I submit the comic by May 28th. My question is, if I fill out the submission form and get the book in stat to CCS, will they pass it on to CGC or just send it back to me? In which case if I would have to send it back to CGC my question is will it they look at my submission as a package of services and "count it" as being submitted by the May 28th deadine for current pricing structures or will I be rushing for nothing? Bottom line, should I pay for the premium membership before April 28th to get the $150 credit and retain the 10% tiered credit for this walk through comic? As it is I will have to rush this book through to get it there in time, and I have other ones that I will end up submitting later, paying more for shipping on additional submissions. Sorry if I made this overly complicated, but I am confused myself and looking at what to do with this key book. Thanks
