No suggestions for good reading runs or mini series?

here here good fellows do any of you have any suggestions on some modern-ish runs to collect and read? I am thinking of picking up Starman, Preacher(again), Sandman, Hellblazer, Miracleman(again), Batman:The Long Halloween. I like darker material with just enough of an underlying message that I don't feel like I have been forced upon someone else's ideals. I dunno, just trying to plot out next year's collecting goals.
