The skull in the crystal ball is not the original Brunner drawing, it's from the Stalker #1 cover.

devil's island of space
mystery in space 46
Trying to find the issue somewhere, or it's reprint
in from beyond the unknown 10.
Maybe someone has it handy.
carbon is a naturally occuring by-product
That answer is so close, it's gotta be the
Carbon Dioxide (occurs naturally, and is a by-product of the combustion of vegetable matter) Edit: Don't quote me on the science of this one, but CO2 is a product of the respiration cycle.

The JLA 138 follow-up? Very cool.
Next Question:
How did the Warden foil Eel Elkins' escape attempt from the prison planetoid?
There are storms moving through the area and my connection is spotty, so here are three hints:
1. Murphy Anderson art
2. The answer is a naturally occuring by-product.
3. The title of this story is also the title of a Tommy Tomorrow adventure.
Hopefully that's enough to track down the answer.

Flash #210

Yeah, that is pretty vague.
More specific: Rann
Tornado Champion = second Red Tornado
JPS
Mystery in Space #61 (1960) featured "The Threat of the Tornado Tyrant".
In 1981 writer Gerry Conway, along with artists George Perez and John Beatty, incorporated the Tornado Tyrant/Champion into the Red Tornado's origin story.

Thanks Jack and Scrooge (have a safe trip), that one took some digging.
Next question:
What 1960's threat later became a hero?
-
magnesium?

Qull of the five inversions. Abin Sur.
Excellent bronze_rules!

Nice one Zonker. No way I would have gotten that without the clue. (Wikipedia strikes again)
Next question:
"Your death will come when the ring of power that you wear eventually fails you, running out of energy at a critical moment..."
The above quote is from an Alan Moore story.
What is the name of the character who spoke this prophecy, and to whom was he speaking?

The Avengers
Edit: If you'll excuse me, me and my ISP here have to step out back for a few minutes to "discuss" things.

Who's on first.
I'm getting dizzy from all the different threads of questions.
-Wheeet- Offense. "Too many men on the field. That's a five yard penalty. First down."
Aw geez, sorry coach. That one's on me.

doomsday. Superman 75.
There was a storyline in the bronze strange run that involved Eternity.
Dr. Strange rescued Eternity from Nightmare. Instead of rewarding Strange, by restoring the universe, Eternity was going to bestow his wrath upon Strange, for irritating him. Until someone rescued strange by putting Eternity in a headlock and getting him to reconsider (draconian style!).
Who was it?
This may or may not be worth a point, but I have the answer to this one.
The Ancient One. Doctor Strange 13 "Planet Earth is No More"
What villain did The Galdiator kill in 1976?
-
Beagle Boys have to be up there if you like the cartoon villains.
Yep.
Chili Seven the Daffy Duck of Hanover Models.

If this isn't one, it ought to be:
That's on the list along with Startling 49.
What's really surprising is the lack of Planet Comics covers. Planet 28 is not a classic cover? Any of the Doolin covers from 51-57 could be considered classics. Who makes these designations again? Is this just a general concensus thing?

I enjoyed the hardboiled pulp prose. It reads like one of the scripts to the old time radio show, Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar.
Incidentally, for those with an interest, over 12,000 OTR broadcasts are available for free at: OTR.Network Library
Thanks for the link BZ! (thumbs u
I'm not much of OTR buff myself, but have read a good Chandler novel or two.
Love Film Noir. "Out of the Past", "Double Indemnity", "Pick-up on South Street" (Richard Widmark, what an under rated actor.)
Thanks again
