Thanks for posting the pages. Guess I won't be paying as much attention to those Flash Gordon's anymore lol

  2. Ed is a great seller with good prices and finds lots of material. I really don't want to give Ed this great feedback but I figure all you vultures already know this lol

If you have to compete with Scrooge in one of your buying threads you know he is cheap :)

    hm

For a sec I thought that was my copy. Very similar corner piece missing and a few chips missing from the right hand side of the cover. Will try to post a scan of mine today or tomorrow.

    :applause: First Arrow!

Hope to see the others posted soon (need to find your source for Centaurs!).

Grats on the First Arrow. Killer book. Wonder what it would go for if it had an Arrow cover hm

  5. I don't think he needs to be on the probation list as Matt got his money back.

Seems like this thread is punishment enough if you ask me.

So what's the harm when a buyer decides not to pay for a book? No harm no foul?

From what I got so far from this thread is that both had an agreement and the seller didn't keep his end of the bargain. In your first post you mentioned Matt worked overtime and sold books locally to come up with the additional funds just to find out the seller sold the book he was raising money to pay off???....sorry that's not acceptable in my book.

I have no horse in this race but it seems that the seller needs to make good with the buyer somehow. The probation list is in place to protect both sellers and buyers..

I would agree with you but Yannis had posted well before this thread in other threads recently about personal problems. So I do believe he has been under stress and I think as posted above this thread is probably enough punishment.

Lets say I bought a book off of Rick and said I could not pay for it and Roy backed me up saying he knew I had a medical emergency I had to pay for.Do you think I would be voted on the probation list? Real life mess happens and as long as its not a habit then I think we eventually have to forgive. Also who will Yannis get off of the list, he doesn't have the book to sell anymore?

  6. If he's the sneaky under-cutting bounder that everyone makes him out to be, why would he want to display the controversial Tec 37

    Well - bingo?

:( You still don't get it. If X was guilty, why go through the trouble of painting a scarlet letter in X's sigline indicating that X was the other buyer in the first place?

Exactly...because he didn't know about the previous transaction when he made the purchase.

Clearly when he removed the book from his sig, he likely didn't want to draw additional attention to himself but from what I recall a few days ago, he was proud to show off his pre-Robin Tec collection within his sig.

If he knew that there was an agreed transaction with another buyer previously, he wouldn't have displayed that very book with pride for all of us members to see.

Or maybe he thought the previous buyer wouldn't notice it, and if he did, wouldn't notice it was the same book???

Not saying it's what happened, but just saying what is said above is not the only way it could have happened.

  7. curious. What was the grade of the book and how much?

I was told it was a 2.5 ungraded but unrestored and they wanted $1600

    hm They

I KNEW that's who it was! :ohnoez:

    i knew first :baiting:

I knew before you all. Stamped it, called it, no erasies, no double crossies.

oops! You forgot no take backs

    :pullhair:

    I win! YAY! :whee:

You have to post who you think it is to win lol Roy doesn't since he sold the book to the person.

  8. It's not his responsibility to explain why he has the book. If he chooses to, that's one thing.

OK, fair enough...he's not obliged to do anything.

I suppose it would be nice to think that he'd feel it the right thing to do, though.

Nick, the only person that needs to do the right thing is the seller. The current owner of the book shouldn't have to or be expected to speak for him.

I think waiting the 24 hours for a seller response is reasonable, then have at 'em.

    +1

Buyer has done nothing wrong. Seller "screwed the pooch".

Come on Batman posts in every thread. He can tell us who he bought it from. Up his post count some more.

  9. When the kids toys ran out of batteries I knew where to find some more.

    :o

    You had a vibrator?

No silly my ex wife had it.

Now lets not make this thread about sexual issues.

I think 1/2 of all crimes of passion are from women going to get their vibrator and finding out that the husband stole the batteries. I read that statistic somewhere.

Or have you seen the commercial where the all the woman's hand cream is gone.I think it was a Rogers commercial for their adult channels

Thats a rogers commercial, funny as hell.

  10. Great cover + great copy = :headbang:

    Thanks. :)

I think Air Fighters had some terrific covers. I don't know why they aren't loved by more collectors. (shrug)

I think part of the reason is comic collecting has become so expensive. I have always loved the Air Fighter covers and will probably get an issue or two one day, but I would rather work on my few small core runs. When I am done them in a few years I will probably move on to Amazing Man or some early Fox super-hero books. So many things to collect and so few collecting dollars.
