  1. Hi all, I'm hoping to get some opinions on this one. It's a nice copy, crisp and tight. Main issue is with the "readers crease" running halfway down the spine. Thanks for looking!
  2. Hi all, here is a copy of The Atom No. 8 from 1963. Staples are tight and interior is clean and complete. There is some general scuffing on the cover, but the biggest issue is the two large scratches on the FC. These don't break the paper. Curious what people think. Thanks!
  3. Hi all, I'd like some feedback on this one. The book is generally in nice shape: flat cover, sharp edges and corners, clean off-white pages. The big issue appears to be the top staple tear (shown). It's got some general light soiling that doesn't come across in the photos, and the whites aren't as white as they appear. There is also what appears to be some red marker top right corner of FC. Thanks for looking.
  4. Hi all, please have a look. I’d appreciate people’s thoughts on the effect of the stamp. I obtained this comic from a neighbor who claims it is originally from John Buscema, who gave this guy’s sister a bunch of free comics with this stamp on it. Regardless of its origins, I really have no idea how to factor in its effect on the grade. Thanks!
  5. Hi all, please have a look. Nothing of note to point out. Inside is clean and binding is tight. The discoloration along the top edge of the BC does not appear to be a stain: paper is flat there and it does not appear on the inside BC.
  6. Looks like a stain on the BC that goes through the last page? Doesn't look like foxing to me.
  7. Hi all, please have a look at this Wolverine #1. A few spine ticks and a dig on the cover (shown). Otherwise excellent shape. Any idea if the dig will press out? Thanks for looking!
  8. Hi all, please have a look! No major defects to note...a few spine ticks on BC and small corner crease bottom left BC. Thanks!
  9. Looks like there's a subscription crease?
  10. Hey all, please have a look at my DD 45. Interior is clean and complete. Covers have noticeable dust shadow, and there's a small nick bottom right, back cover. Thanks for looking!
  11. Thanks again. Quick question re spine rolls if I may... The book doesn't lie flat, it does curve up slightly at the spine. But, the front and back covers are aligned on the fore edge. When I think of spine rolls, I think of this latter condition being affected, where the spine curves up and "pulls" the back cover away from the fore edge. Am I confused about how to spot spine rolls? Thanks again.
  12. Thanks. Any idea what effect the fingerprint has?
  13. Hi all! Yes, this is my 2nd Iron Man 2 post in a few days...sorry. This is a nice book: clean, complete interior; tight staples. Small bend/tear on bottom edge and there is a finger print right there on Shell Head's knee. Thanks for looking!
  14. Hi all! Can you spare a minute to weigh-in on this book? Edges are a bit ragged. There is some scuffing on the bottom edge, and a nearly invisible 1/4" tear near bottom right corner. Interior is clean and complete and staples are tight. The cover feels super-thin and delicate. Thanks for looking!
  15. It does look like a 5, but upon close inspection it seems just part of the background.
  16. Hi all, here's an Iron Man #2. This book is tight with high gloss and nice interior. Please let me know what y'all think. Note that there is a small color lift inside the "2" of the 12 cent price. Thanks for looking!
  17. Hi all, recently acquired this Tales of Suspense 69, first appearance of Titanium Man. Curious to know how people might grade this thing! The front cover is not especially smooth (ripply or wavy, though not from moisture). There is a ding and associated crease on/near Titanium Man's left-hand (there's a photo detailing this). Interior is unremarkable.
  18. Thanks guys! I have a copy of Overstreet and it's very helpful. I've got the first edition, though, and I find it hard to apply it systematically for grading ( since the examples in the book tend to have multiple issues/defects it's hard to know how much influence each type of issue/defect has on the overall grade.) I know it's certainly imperfect, but the grading "tool" from comicbookrealm is fun and seems somewhat useful for just getting started: https://comicbookrealm.com/example-based-grading . Great tip on the group grading link...I will certainly have a look there!
  19. Hi all, I'm relatively new to comic collecting and still trying to get a "sense" of comic grading. I came across this Tales of Suspense #78 (https://www.ebay.com/itm/383631111489 ) that the seller suggests is a VG on account of the front cover condition (there are no other major issues as per the seller). The multiple large spine ticks are the obvious defect but I'm surprised that these would result in a VG grade, thinking perhaps a VG/FN or even FN- might be fair. I'd love some impressions from more experienced collectors.
