  1. I thought I had purchased X-men 19-24 back in the day, but I can't find the 19. LOL my life as a hoarder. It'll probably turn up in some random box some day. Brian
  2. Just interested in find out about it. Can a comic go below 0.5? Did this thing catch fire at some point? What a trip. Cover completely detached, no back cover. All interior pages are there and hanging on for dear life. Honestly don't know what to do with a comic like this. . .Put a repro cover on it? Just let it disintegrate into dust? Thanks in advance.
  3. comparative opinions. Cant wait to see what the experienced boardies have to say.
  4. Thought I had the 19 and 20, and probably do, but the 19 is not in the box with the others. Anyhow, last 1966 X-men to post for me for now. This one might see a bump in grade from the others? Also, do these qualify as white pages? Side note: I kinda want those plastic hobby kits from Aurora. . . .
  5. Thanks for the explanation, I'll look for this in some of my other older comics. Of course they had no idea back in 1966 that these would be valuable collectors items some day. Closer inspection of the comic reveals that it was indeed folded directly down the middle, with the crease running throughout the entire book. Cool information, thanks board members.
  6. LOL. I wish. I purchased a run from 19-24 at a swap meet circa 1990. =) I appreciate your comments and encouragement! Brian
  7. Again comments welcome to help me learn.
  8. I have a pretty good idea based on my previous two books, but comments are welcome. For instance, how much does that crease lower overall grade? Thanks in advance.
  9. No problem! Yeah the back of that book is really pretty nice.
  10. Woohoo . . .first foray into the PGM thread. (I've lurked around a lot though lol)
  11. Thanks Mister X. I learned a bit about my book. This forum is cool.
  12. Oh and I can't see prices on my census, is this a "premium" feature? Thanks for helping out. I'm new to this. Regards, Brian
  13. Okay so I figured out how to check the census, but is this issue considered a reprint?
  14. So, I'm a newbie here, but used to lurk these boards a lot back around 2010 or so. I collected a lot in the early eighties in my teens, and again around 2004-6 when my son was born and my folks gave me my old collection to store in my garage instead of theirs. =) Time in between went somewhere . .not sure where. Anyhow, I mostly collect MTG cards and play D&D with my son and friends, he never really gained interest in comics even though he loves fantasy, sci-fi ect...So I took out the old comic collection the other day and decided to price them and I found out that comics have gone bonkers since 2010 or so when I last paid any attention. I was pretty stoked and am thinking of selling a few that have value right now in order to fund some other purchases. One of the things I noticed was that Star Wars Comics have really taken off. I have a nice copy of Star Wars #2 that I want to sell, but I am confused about reprints, variants . . .whitman, newstand ect . . I did a quick search and couldn't find what I was looking for. Maybe I just don't know where to look. I have the whitman .30 cent newstand variant. Where can I find info about pricing for this? Ebay is not helping me right now. Is there a thread that somebody can point me to? Can anyone share any information? Thanks in advance. Cheers Brian
  15. I signed up just to say this. Back in the early 80's when I was in junior high school my step-dad noticed that my brother and I were starting to tank in school. He wanted to encourage us to read, so we started collecting comics. There was a great LCS in Citrus Heights, California called Comics and Comix. We eventually worked our way up to a pretty significant pull list of comics that we would go and pick up every other Sunday night. We had all of the big titles, both DC and Marvel. Every Sunday night when we got home we would read comics. Groo was always the first comic that we wanted to read. Groo was probably the only one that got read over and over again . . .the other stuff it was read once, bagged and boarded. Groo just hung out on the coffee table for two weeks and got read by everyone, even my mom. Still have them all. My all-time favorite. I'm an avid gardener now and every time I throw a load of mulch on the flower beads I think of Groo. I stopped eating cheese dip a long time ago though. Brian
