I think everyone here should post their books taken in the What’s new in your magazine collection thread and fill that sucker up....xD

I just posted mine. Great looking books :x

Turns out the person I bought the books from years back was EggsAckley, who was selling for another boardie. It appears that my tastes have gotten more expensive as I've gotten older (I was strictly a mid-grade bargain buyer back then 5.0-6.0 all day long).

All but a couple of orders have been paid and shipped out. Some have even gotten theirs already. (thumbsu

Your threads remind me of my very first Warren threads here on the boards maybe 7 or 8 years ago where I picked up a whole mess of Vampirella and a few Eeries and Creepys as a bonus (could've even been you but I'm too lazy to go back and find the threads). Since I collect mostly GA now, I don't typically read the books that I buy, but any time I buy a Warren, I read it once I open the box.

I'm actually not sure why I've never really pursued full runs of these mags. There aren't many things cooler for fans of horror comics.

Also, for any Warren fans that haven't read Bill Schelly's book 'Empire of Monsters' that follows Jim Warren's career, you should really try to track it down. It's a great history of his publishing empire and has a ton of great stories as well as the history. I know I'm likely preaching to the choir here, but ya never know.

Sorry for the thread hijack ;) - Can't wait for the mags!

I think there is plenty to love, with some of the greatest comic creators of that or any other time.  The format is what's always held them back.  If these were standard comic book size of the period in color, they would have seen their boom long ago.  If they never boom, that's okay too, as I always buy what I like.  :cloud9:

Yup. Buy what you love and you'll never go wrong. And these will boom. 😉

PCH demand was an organic process with collectors creating the demand out of love of the genre and investors coming in later. Hopefully the magazine market follows a similar path otherwise it won’t be sustained.

Someones got to love these things first for their content if their value is to hold.

    Just sayin’...

Oh for sure. I'm just saying, speaking as someone who loves these mags, buy them now while you still can.

I love PCH and bought a bunch about ten years ago...I couldn't afford those books now. If you love Warren mags and can afford to get them now, I'd recommend doing so.

I'm buying them for the love, but am convinced they'll eventually be unattainable in high grades just like PCH because they are so awesome.

Creepy 1 7.5-8.0 Here's where it all begins!  Who would have thought 9 years after the tragic demise of EC Comics you would find this issue on the stands.  Jack Davis provides the classic cover, and inside you get Orlando, Williamson, Crandall, Frazetta, Morrow and Torres.  This copy was originally sold by Mile High Comics as a NM 9.4, and you can have the label from Chuck.  Maybe you can sell it back to him as a nm copy?  LOL.  $80
