Thank you. I’ve read the scanner threads - really curious if anyone successfully using a camera and light box to take images of slabs - I believe cgc is taking stills, not scanning - but maybe I’m wrong?

Anyone care to speculate on how CGC manages to take such nice photos of their slabs after grading? I'm assuming some sort of light controlled/diffused set up - but has anyone been able to recreate that look? If so, examples and share your set up? I use a legal size CCD scanner and it works well, but it is harder and harder to find that tech if problems arise. Plus it's huge and bulky and takes up a lot of space. Looking to replace my scanner as it's an all-in-one and the printer sucks - I need a new all-in-one, but none have legal CCD scanners, so I would have two bulky items - the new all-in-one plus a standalone legal CCD scanner, which I'm trying to avoid if possible. I prefer the look of the scan, but I'm not crazy about having a separate large legal CCD scanner in my office - space is limited. Example Scan: CGC Image:

I realize this is a silly question and I tried searching for answer, but can't seem to get a hit. After a submission is marked as shipped/imaged/finalized - where do you get the images if you paid for scans? Do they come via email as I don't see them anywhere in my submissions links.

Maybe I'm being inpatient but isn't walk through service same day? Books arrived early this morning and now it's 8:20pm FL time, thought grades would be available? They are not. Or maybe the graders are working really late tonight? Is it same day or 24 hours? They've been at grading/qc status most of the day.

Doesn’t seem Nelson (Count) on boards much recently. Tried emailing him, although email I had was from a number of years ago so not sure if he is still using it. Tried a couple PMs here. Crickets. Anyone know him outside boards and able to send him a message, hoping he still has a few books I’m looking for - still in his registry’s. Thank you.

Thanks for all the tips, they all sound amazing. Think Baltimore is in my future but it’s not till October. In May looks like MegaCon Orlando and Motor City Comic Con. Either of these worth the trek across the US? Heroes Con in mid June would be on my list but have other commitments that weekend.
