  1. As a boy, I really enjoyed Arnold & Milius' CTB. It has held-up only semi-well for me. The artistic success that it did achieve was probably because Dino & crew took it seriously. Mako was good in it & made for a pretty darn good narrator too. Nice voice. Interesting face. The sequel was terrible. Terrible camp. Unlike good camp ---- Flash Gordon (1980?) & 1960's Batman.
  2. Hither came Conan... Conan the Conqueror, Gnome Press 1950. First Conan in book form. I have two complete runs of Conan from issue 25 - 150 in high grade. Here is my collection of Conan 1 - 24 --- left column is CGC, right column raw (with some raw multiples). My goal is to have them all in 9.6 White. I haven't added to it in some time so maybe I'll get back on my horse... 1 9.6 W ; NM- 2 9.4 W 3 9.6 W ; VF+, VF+ 4 9.4 W 5 ; NM- 6 9.6 W ; NM- 7 9.6 W ; VF 8 9.6 W ; NM- 9 9.4 W 10 9.6 W 11 9.4 W 12 9.6 OW/W ; VF 13 9.6 W ; NM 14 ; NM, VF- 15 9.6 OW/W ; NM, VF- 16 ; NM 17 9.6. 3. Buscema's women! Just look at that girl! I assume that those are Ernie Chan inks. Great pages. Albert Moy had a nice Buscema Conan page in Chicago this year --- tavern scene with Conan beating down a rowdy who puts the move on his wench. I think the phrase "tavern wench" was used.
  4. I never watched that Conan TV show on UPN or the WB or whatever it was on some few years ago. It just looked like Xena, which, I never watched either...
  5. I am not too hopeful due to the art style shown either... But my attitude is I'll take what I can get & pray for the best. To have The Studio artists you mention on board would be a dream come true.
  6. I love Conan's babes. ...always as drawn by Big John Buscema .
  7. CONAN: RED NAILS ANIMATED FEATURE It is fair to say that I am a NUT for all things Robert E. Howard, Conan & BWS.
  8. Miswrap isn't such a big deal here. 9.8 is a 9.8. Bernie Wrightson makes this run something special.
  9. There was a dealer in Chicago this year sharing a booth with Mark from Nashville who had a stack of about 50 of those all in about 9.2 for $20 each, flat. They were sitting on his table with no bags or boards. He said he had the same kinda stacks of the usual, Battlestar Galactica 1, Rom 1, Micronauts 1. But the Swamp Thing 7 was unusual in my experience. The cover has a King Kong/Quasimodo feel to it for me. For some reason I feel like Batman could not even be there and the cover would be just the same without him--- that is: very, very cool!
  10. Mmmmm Muuuutiiiiii.... I can remember seeing that movie in the theater on Hillsborough Avenue in Tampa when it came out...specific recollection of standing in front of the theater and looking at the poster. That movie house has long since gone the way of the dodo...but the movie lives. So it just came out on DVD eh? One of the few examples of good camp...(Batman TV series another?) I just checked IMDB and Sam Jones continues to work but in things I've never seen. Oh, and don't forget Melody Anderson....
