Ok getting mixed messages from customer service on this. Would appreciate some clarification. I was originally told that the turnaround time stars when the submission is delivered to the building. Given that the turnaround times are fluid, i was under the impression that the effective turn around time would be whatever it is on the date the submission is delivered to the building, not what it is when logged in to the system. For example , my economy order was received to the building on April 9, and on that date the turnaround time for economy was 61 days. Now it is 91 days (at the time of posting this message). Please clarify that the turnaround time applied is whatever that number is when the submission is delivered to the building.

    Thank you

Turnaround times now start from the day your package is delivered to our facility, NOT when your submission is entered into our system. Once delivered, submissions are securely stored until opened and entered into our system. Turnaround times are estimates only and are NOT guaranteed. CCG strives to post the most accurate turnaround times possible. However, a variety of factors, including submissions that are improperly packaged, items that require additional research and other circumstances, may result in delays.

I've noticed that some cards that are photo variation short prints don't have anything distinguishing them in their CSG labels. PSA seems to either add an "SP" on the label or an extra description such as "Batting" or "Warm-up shirt" or something like that that helps distinguish the variation. Will CSG add something like this in the future?

Thank you for your question. That maybe a detail that CSG will add in the future. When we do, we will make an announcement about it.

What is your backlog? My submission was received on the 6th of July. Standard grading. How long is it before you enter it into your system? My understanding is that the TAT starts from when it is entered.

Thank you for your question. Right now, CSG is currently working on submissions delivered on the week of April 26. We announce what we are working on on out services page. https://www.csgcards.com/submit/services-fees/csg/.

Turnaround times start from the day your package is delivered to our facility, NOT when your submission is entered into our system.

Once delivered, submissions are securely stored until opened and entered into our system. To confirm that your package has been delivered to our facility, please use the Confirm Package Delivery tool located on the homepage and “My Submissions” page of each company website. Once your submission has been entered into our system, you can monitor its progress through the certification process using the Submission Tracking tool. https://www.csgcards.com/account/my-submissions/

Need to clarify that each tier’s value is only a max value or that I can submit a card express tier, even if it’s Mint 10 value is currently below a lower tier’s max?

Can CSG decide to bump the cards down a tier for any reasons?

Yes, each tier is a card's max value. CSG does not arbitrarily decide to lower the cards value. If the estimates are completely off the mark, for example, then the value is adjusted.

According to the site, once the order goes into Scheduled for Grading status you can check the details of the order. 2 of my orders have been in that status for 4 days now with no details available. Aren’t they supposed to be available as soon as they go into that status? Or does it actually take a while to see details after going into that status? Are they pushing these orders into a new status before they’re actually ready so it looks like they’re progressing?

Thank you for your question. It does mean your submission is starting the next phase and the details will be available as soon as they enter it into the system. The process varies a bit due to the size of the submission order.

I have submitted nearly 400 cards at one time but I am trying to keep track of cards that I have submitted and the grade locally. is there a way that I can copy the row's and colmns into excel? Can I export it? Trying to reproduce 400 entries isn't feasible!

Thank you for your question! Unfortunately, that is not a feature we have available. I will pass your suggestion and see if that is something that can be done in the future.

Should I use the same penny sleeves semi rigid top loaders included in the submission kit CSG provides for regular cards to submit thicker cards?  I would think the thicker cards would become damaged. Or should I just submit in penny sleeves I already have in rigid top loaders meant for the thicker cards?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

Thank you for your question! It is not recommended to you the same penny sleeves, since, you are correct, they are designed for standard sized cards. Submitting the the cards in holders meant for thicker cards is the better way to go.

When is CSG gonna lift the 10 pack per household limit? I just got an order of 500, but I am sending in 500 cards, actually more than that. Would LOVE to see CSG take care of guys like myself that are sending in 1000's of cards a month, by either lifting the limit, OR what would be GREAT customer service- offer to send us BACK or CSG top loaders or top loaders. I WOULD GLAD PAY for shipping!

CSG can tell who is a frequent customer, instead of just tossing away those, do something for your main bulk submitters. HELP THEM, HELP YOU! Would take some of the sting off for amount of time cards are "in slab room", or when packages get "misplaced" at CSG. CSG should know by now, who the heavy hitters are. DO A PERK thing like helping out with top loaders.

THIS WOULD DEFINETLY SET CSG IN DIFFERENT CUSTOMER SERVICE OVER PSA, and really all other grading companies! SET THE BAR HIGHER!

Thank you for your question and input. Since we introduced the thicker holders, supply is lower than demand and graders are busy grading the submissions. We hope to lift the limit soon and we will announce when we do.

    Hello,

in regards to the new thick cases announcement. In the announcement post it lists some sets that thick cases can apply to, I have some basketball cards from Panini Impeccable and Panini Noir that I didn’t see listed in the post and I wanted to know if those can be graded with these new cases too.

The list were some examples of thick cards CSG will except. The CSG Thick Holder will come in three sizes — 3.5mm, 5.5mm and 7.25mm — to accommodate all thicknesses of cards up to 7.25mm. The appropriate size holder for your card will be determined by CSG’s highly trained staff at its sole discretion. So if your card fills the size requirements and is indeed a sports card, your submission should be fine.

So I paid my due invoice about 10 days ago and when I talked to the accountant she said my cards were graded. In my account it says they are scheduled for grading. Can anyone clear this up? Are they graded? When can I see the grades?

CSG processes credit card payments when a submission enters the grading phase of the certification process. When the cards are finished grading, then you will be able to see the grades.

If I submitted in March and early April and the cards have been input- am I to expect them in the 61 days that was the timeframe when they were input or the new 130 days?

    Dear CSG:

You recently adjusted the turn around time for Economy from around 60 days to 135 days. Can you clarify for the community one of the following:

    1. If an order arrived at CSG in April or May, when the turnaround time was stated as 60 or so days, their expected turnaround time is still the 60 or so days, and new orders are now at 135 days.

    2. All orders not yet completed are at the new 135 days.

    3. Something else.

    Thank you.

Thank you for your question. Turnaround times reflect the estimated number of working days to complete a submission delivered to our facility today. Turnaround times are estimates only and are NOT guaranteed. Due to high submission volumes, there may be a delay in opening incoming packages. The good news is we hired more graders and this will help reduce the turnaround time.

Do you grade these cards?  I know CGC grades Pokémon and Magic but not sure which of you grades marvel cards.

CSG focuses on grading sports cards. CGC does grade Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering, however they do not grade Marvel cards at this time.

It's pretty clear these are not being met--not even close -- will you update them to be more accurate? 61 day economy is taking 70+ days minimum --please advise

Thank you for your question. The length of time it takes to get sports cards certified depends on the grading tier you select when the cards are submitted. Turnaround times reflect the estimated number of working days to complete a submission delivered to our facility today. Turnaround times are estimates only and are NOT guaranteed. Due to high submission volumes, there may be a delay in opening incoming packages.

Receiving back my order from way back when, today, from maybe February. One of the cards has a 10, 9, 8.5, 8.5 for subgrades. How is the final grade only an 8.5? Shouldn't this be atleast a 9? Pretty pissed that a pack pulled what looked like a perfect card comes back with two 8.5's to start but to only receive an 8.5 final grade after waiting 4 months for it.

    Screenshot_20210621-073655_Chrome.jpg

CSG has developed a proprietary algorithm to determine a card’s final grade based on its sub-grades. While we can’t reveal how we arrive at a final grade and sub-grades for a specific card, we can share some guidelines. First, it is important to note that the final grade is not simply an average of the sub-grades. Rather, it is based on numerous rules that are built into CSG’s proprietary systems and grading process. For example, the final grade can be no more than 1 point higher than the lowest sub-grade. In addition, if the two lowest sub-grades are the same, then that is the final grade for the card. For more information on CSG’s grades, including detailed explanations for each grade and sub-grade, see the CSG Grading Scale. https://www.csgcards.com/card-grading/grading-scale/
