  1. Star Wars Darth Vader #20 2nd Print Chris Sprouse Lucasfilm 50Th Beska – Golden Apple Comics
  2. Not trying to start a debate on first appearances, but there is a reflection of Zombie Reed on the last page of UF20. Does it count in the Marvel Zombies lore ?? I agree that the UF books are a precursor to the Marvel Zombes books, and should have more interest. There was a slight bump in interest of the UF books with the What-if shows, but not much. Maybe it has something to do with UF being the Ultimate U. vs. M. Zombies being in the reg. 616 I do have a double cover error version of UF21 (which I found out when I was looking over Adamantium's post; funny the things you notice if you pay attention !). Any thoughts on whether there is interest/spec on this error version ?
  3. Is a 'double error cover' of Ultimate FF21 worth anything ? First cover appearance, second overall appearance pf Marvel Zombies. (I think the first appearance is in Ultimate FF20). Thanks !
  4. I will be exploring other sites - like Comiclink (being discussed on the Boards right now). To be fair, my experience with Ebay and buyers on Ebay has been mostly good. Its the few $@%^& buyers (and probably sellers too) who screw it up for everyone. For sure though, Ebays protections, while much improved, are more in favor of buyers than sellers. The 'Not as described' reason is the most egregious, and not collecting payment immediately after winning a bid or making a purchase, is right up there with it. Not allowing reciprocal feedback to explain experience is another issue.
  5. herrlejeff1 This is the guy who responded that he wanted to build Trumps wall, when I refused a return that was clearly buyer remorse The guy then filed a chargeback on his credit card for ‘cancellation’ of order. Ebay asks me to send proof of receipt - tracking info. I found this strange, because its on the Ebay site already , and his messages clearly show he received the book. Anyway, I complied. Waited for a month and Ebay messaged me back saying he won his case and was credited the cost + postage. The good thing for me was that Ebay didnt charge me anything, and in fact deleted his negative feedback, so I was OK with this. I dont know why his credit card company would side with him - both tracking info and his messages on Ebay show he received the book. I am not sure if Ebay had to compensate the credit card company or him directly, but just thought this is a heck of a way to respond to a clear lie.
  6. petehokkanen - Outbid several bidders and then did not pay darnelhal_4 - Outbid several bidders and then did not pay frikk17 - bid and won, and then requested to cancel because he found a better price. I’m not sure about the next buyers intention - cjar2000 - requests a ‘full’ refund because he didnt receive the book; stresses the ‘full’. Simple check of tracking shows the book was left on his front porch two days before. Ebay requests me to provide an explanation (again when this tracking info is already available on Ebay !), and then he cancels request.
  7. The newer packs have the orange Walmart sticker on them. The High Republic 3 pack is from the prior batch. The high ratio variants are only in the newest packs (w/ orange sticker). If you dont care about the books you get and are just looking for the thrill of unpacking, have at it. If you are looking for variants - look for an all white spine or a white spine with black tick marks. There are other variants with different colors but I am not sure how to identify these. The all-white variants could include : Xmen 1:5 titles (storm, kitty pryde, colossus, etc.), black knight momoko virgin, etc. The white with black markings could include : ASM 55 1:50 Gleason, 1:100 Moon Knight 200, 1:1000 Hulk. MATCH tTHE MARKINGS WITH THE PIC SCANS ON THIS FORUM OR ELSEWHERE ! The white with a uniformly spaced grid-like markings would be the 'design variants'. Also, a purple spine with yellow splotches along it is the 1:200 Eternals 1 Kirby Crackle variant. The above are some indicators that could help you identify some of the variants (no guarantees !!) without tearing the wrapping. Many packs have books of no value (except for the reading fun of course !). You can then return the unopened packs to Walmart for a refund. Good luck !
  8. Whats the bottom book (with the black cover) ? Thanks !
  9. The spine with purple and yellow splotches is the 1:200 Eternals 1 variant. This and the Gleason were the only ones I could readily match. The others would need a lot more effort to color match by the spine - the good books could be in the middle and the bottom.
  10. These look like the older packs. The Capt. Marvel is an Artgerm Walmart variant (longer hair vs. the shorter cut in the regular issue). I think the poster above indicated that the orange sticker identifies the newer packs.
  11. Start by looking for a spine with a white background, then match the lines you see according to the pattern of the cover pic posted earlier. This is what I did. Didnt want to open the plastic, till I was somewhat sure the pattern matched, so bought it, took it home and then compared it. You have to look real carefully at the pattern. Mine was in the middle and the pattern clearly matched, so my odds were greater, and it panned out. If it didnt match, I would return it for a refund. Hope this helps !
  12. This morning, I picked up an Aliens pack and found a 1:200 Eternals 1 KIRBY CRACKLE (??) incentive ratio variant at the bottom. The cover is purple with a bunch of yellow splotches on it (back and front). So if interested, an indication of this book is to look for yellow and purple color splotches along the spine.
  13. Thanks for the info ! I found a Gleason 55 2nd print 1:50. The book was sandwiched between an Extreme Carnage Alpha (top) book and a Return of the Valkyries Black History Variant. The Gleason was easy to identify, I looked for a white background along the spine, and then traced the ‘web’ markings from the pic that was posted on this CGC forum (I had bought the pack home, and compared the markings before opening the pack). I think this is random between the packs (someone posted on here that they found it with the Star Wars HR 6 pack), so the giveaway is the method I used above.Dont know how to identify the others without actually opening the packs, and dont want to spend on books I am not interested in. If anyone knows of a way, please share. Thanks !
  14. Lucked out again. Buyer bid and then did not pay. micrus1804
  15. BishopT - Thanks for sharing ? Which pack did this come from ? Was it in the middle or the last one ?
  16. Longtime lurker, but finally decided to join the boards. Wanted to add to the Ebay list: myso_93 - Bid on several of my books, and then didnt pay chricamach48 - Bid and then didnt pay herrlejeff1 - Did not read description and paid for the book. Never asked any questions or requested any more pics. On receiving the book, requested a return because he 'didnt like it'. Said the book was presented as 'high grade', even though I pointed out the flaws with pics, said it was probably in 'good' condition, and never stated that it was high grade. Said it 'smelled' I was considering offering a discount, but after questioning him one time, he started insulting me, threatening to affect my sales. I then refused his return, and he mentioned something about 'supporting Trump' and 'building the wall' , and then negged me. Another seller, on seeing my feedback rebuttal, then contacted me and mentioned a similar experience, but gave in to him to avoid him. Had several other bad experiences, but those were several years ago. The last year and this year have been good for small sellers like me. But in the last two months, I have had several non-payments and request for refunds, adjustment, perceived damage, due to their own handling (dropping the book, etc., not even due to mail shipping.). Very discouraging ! I know that all of us would like to maintain that perfect 100% seller rating, BUT I refuse to give in to BS when its so apparent, even at the cost of a negative feedback. I of course, do address my concerns in the rebuttal feedback, and hope that other serious buyers review this before paying attention to the feedback score. I also report and contest all claims when I see BS. While I try to be fair, and am open to the possibility of damage due to mailing, or something glaring that I missed, etc., I do contest and challenge any request that is BS, and take a stand, even at risk to my Ebay score. While the above is my opinion/approach, I hope other sellers would atleast report the bad Ebayers to Ebay, here, etc., so that they (the BAD Ebayers) dont get away with their bad practices, and other sellers can be aware of them. Turning a blind eye to these folks, and even rewarding them (refunds, returns, etc. to avoid the negative feedback threat, to avoid the problem, etc.), sends the message that their tactics work, and they WILL try it again. Many of these folks have a 100% rating, as Ebay does not allow negative feedback for the buyer. At the very least, report them to Ebay, and contest the activity if you know it to be bad, so that they are on notice, and on record. For non-payers, let a non-payment strike be recorded with Ebay, so that there is a record of this. Turning a blind eye to these bad Ebayers, and empowering their bad behavior just hurts the whole comic community. Apologize that my first post is a rant, and for being a newbie lecturing to the experienced sellers here. Hopefully this helps someone, as I have benefitted greatly from this site and others. (I have posted the same info on other sites too !)
