  1. Thanks for mentioning the green label; I hadn’t yet realized that unauthenticated signatures automatically took the “qualified” label — as if some rando had scribbled on the cover with a Sharpie. Newbie question: Is it possible that the unwitnessed signatures actually harm the value of a book like this? Very appreciative of everyone’s input. Thanks much!
  2. That totally looks like a seam split in the photo but it’s not on the book. Thanks all for the consensus!
  3. Oh yeah, I really don't see this one going anywhere but we're thinking about sending a few titles in to be slabbed and I'm just trying to get a sense of what would come back! We actually have the first five issues signed by Gaiman. He pointed out some spots in the art where he insisted that Kieth make alterations because (per Kieth's style) the character's shoes were too big!
  4. Could you folks take a look at this Sandman #1 and hit me with your expert opinions? This one has been read multiple times, but is nice and flat with tight staples and clean outer corners. The top and bottom corners of the spine are rubbed with ~3mm of splitting at the TLFC. A bit of discoloration near the staples on the back cover (it's obvious in the photos.) Small hill-shaped crease next to the "s" in "Dreams" on the front cover (this is also visible in the photo and partly visible in the scan). About seven tiny stress marks down the spine, which aren't obvious but can still be seen on the scan if you look carefully. For the record, the signature on the front cover is Neil Gaiman's and this copy has another on the inside from Sam Kieth. (Gaiman signed the issue twice to ensure his signature was on the front cover as well as next to Kieth's sig.)
  5. Could you guys please have a look at this Caliber Presents #1 and tell me what you think? Overall it's a nice, flat copy with tight staples. Slight creasing to TRFC, no loss of color. Bottom of back cover shows slight shelf wear and slight loss of color. Spine has slight rub and loss of color at top and bottom. Thanks in advance!
  6. Thanks, all! I appreciate it. I learned to grade comics way back in the day (M/NM/FN/VG/G/P), but the CGC scale is relatively new to me and this feedback is super-helpful.
  7. Hi, all! Would you mind taking a look at this comic book that I found in a $0.25 bin a few decades ago? Hope this isn't too many photos, but this has a lot of minor imperfections and I wanted to make sure I cover them all for you. The book is flat overall with nice gloss and tight, clean staples. There are a number of scratches, dings and indentations on front and back cover, including a double-scratch most of the way down on the BLFC. Paper is off-white with some discoloration at the top and centerfold spine. Corners have been bumped/worn. Ink rub on TRBC is barely noticeable in person but shines like the sun in photos and scans! Thanks for having a look at this one.
