A very public pressing

...now infamous in the GA section of the Boards, these are the 2 "coffee can" comics I purchased on eBay several months ago.....so nicknamed due to them having been stored in a coffee can for 50+ years according to the seller. The 1st few pics were taken by the seller for the auction, and the last 4 I took..... the books just arrived back to me today from Matt Nelson.

 

The point of this thread......with all the questionable negative threads and "press" over pressing in our hobby, who here thinks that this is not the best case for pressing 2 books............ever?

wow. to each his own, but i personally have NO problem with pressing. honestly wouldn't care if it was disclosed either.

 

curious questions if i may ask.

 

how much did you pay for them before pressing? how much was the pressing? how much should they be worth in their current condition if they weren't pressed?

Is it the photos, or is there still a hint of "wave" to both books? And if so, would a second pressing (ulp) make a difference?

I guess what I'm getting at is; wouldn't you have achieved the same result (or better) and saved a chunk of change if you had put it in a nice Mylar sleeve and stuck it in a tighly-packed short-box for five or ten years?

 

I still see the same "waves" as in the "coffee can" version, just flatter.
