This article from MSN goes into some detail about cons going on on eBay.

 

Or, rather, off eBay.

 

Got me to thinking... How many of us have asked to transact outside eBay (either to sell the same thing that someone just lost in another auction or to buy something that didn't sell)?

 

I've tried both, but less and less lately (mostly due to lesser response rates than a few years back).

You always have to be careful on ebay. Sadly, its come to the point where unless I know the person I am dealing with I will be more hesitant to place a bid. If I do know the person and have done dealings in the past for raw books I don't mind bidding a fair price for the desired grade (provided I trust the seller's grading) so in that way it's a win-win: higher prices for the seller and books as described! smile.gif
