Very enjoyable stuff (as always). Slightly unusual for an E.C. story to feature the afterlife, as Bill Gaines wasn't exactly pro-religion and generally didn't go for tales that were about Satan or ghosts. More please....

Thanks for the stories. I hadn't really read any EC (aside from late sixties Mad) before. The tales are finely crafted and very dark. I wonder who their audience was?

I knew what that story was as soon as I read the title. It was an episode of Tales from the Crypt. Except there wasn't any antidote and the girl jumped out of the window so she was all deformed. I only saw those episodes when they first aired, but I still remember them vividly.

Great story. That was an episode with Kirk Douglas and his son Eric.

 

 

So I read Vault of Horror 12 thru 16 last weekend and I looked at your reviews after each issue. Overall, I agree with your ratings with one notable exception. "Rats Have Sharp Teeth" in VoH 14. It's one of my favorite stories of the batch, but you rated it a C+. What didn't you like about it?
