where is the best place to buy drawing supplies?

Pearl does have some good stuff... when I was drawing all the time and because I was not and am not a "pro" i used to like to go to the art supply store myself and ask for advice in person.

Are you looking for specific materials? (Drawing boards that are already blue lined etc.)

If you are looking for that sort of thing, sorry can't help you. If however, you're looking for the raw materials, Blick really is the best place to start.

 

They have the best prices on paper. (Strathmore 500 series 2ply vellum/rough finish et al) They pack it flat, and they it ship fast. They're also pretty good on their brush and ink prices. You can find paints cheaper elsewhere, but their pricing is very competetive.

 

If you're looking for pencils, nibs, and quills. Mister Art is not bad.
