These signatures seem off to me....

 

The "D" in Don Perlin seems wrong and the other sig looks waaaaay off. What do you guys think?

what is interesting to note is that both guys happened to use the same red pen.

 

either the person that got it signed actually gave those people the red pen, or he wrote the names himself

It is not uncommon for both sigs to be in red. I have seen them both in silver as well.

 

Both sigs do seem a little off though. In fact, VanHook's sig seems way off.

keep in mind that autographs can look different over time as well as if the autographer is siging multiples and thier hand gets tired.

 

I have gone to conventions and saw as many as 4 different types of signatures or variances for artist.

 

Perfect example is Billy Tucci, he some times does a quick scribble of Tucci, sometimes does Billy Tucci, sometimes does William Tucci and sometimes does his drawing signtature which is a Tucci that doesnt look at ALL like his regular signed Tucci.

 

All I saying is its very hard to say a signature is authentic or unauthentic if you didnt get it yourself, or bought it from a reputatble dealer like DF or its a CGC SS book.

If someone is going to take the time to conterfeit signatures, I can think of better artists, and better books to do them on.

The "P" in Perlin is way off, notice how the line in the P (in the real one) is straight as opposed to the curve . Horrible forgery, or maybe they were hung over when they signed it?? Was the COA a photocopy???
