Incredible Hulk 181

so Rick, this is one of those books that drive collectors nuts for one simple reason; to bag/board, or not bag/board?

it's obviously not going to get a lot worse, but gawtalmighty, every other book is going to be in a bag/board. what's an OCD collector to do?

best if you just go ahead and slab that thang. save you a lot of headache down the trail

This came in a high grade bronze collection (I am thinking of printing up

certificates and applying for pedigree status  ). The only hidden defect is that it is missing one wrap (not the centerfold).

The rest of it looks A-OK to me.

How high would you grade it?

I cant make a proper call on the grade unless I see the back...

You can just about see the back from the front!

So, other than the page quality, it would fit perfectly in your collection? :wishluck:

Thanks Ed! I may give that a shot. Wolverine's face should be worth a few bucks.

The missing wrap is the value stamp wrap.

Can you elaborate on the face quality a little more or provide a better scan of just the face?

This might make for a decent chip to add to my fist full of chips for submission. I'm really trying to beef-up my chips only slab stash and this would really fit perfectly into my collection ---- if the face is the right chip I'm looking for.

I'm just hoping that I'll be able to shake it loose from the cover as one single, perhaps even high grade, chip.

But not if its brittle. Brittle offends me.

The one thing it isn't is brittle. It is very dirty, and chewed up, but in a fresh supple sort of way!

lol Okay, we're making progress. Has it retained its gloss? I love glossy beaters --- glossy beater chips, natch. :insane:

Look I was going to make an offer but I'm going to have to pass on this potential Face Chip. Wait! Does the book have a really mouldy, musty, old pulp smell? Especially around center cover area??

That book has seen some lovin.............you should cut out wolverine from the cover like that showcase 4 that finally sold.... then tell people you cut it out from your OO collection when you were 9.....makes a good story, and you could frame the wolverine. Truly, how many people have the actual cover image framed...

How much do you want for that....if you won't do it, I will.
