Great deal if you still haven't registered. BUT IT SUCKS IF YOU ARE ALREADY REGISTERED!! That's fuc.ked up. Sends a bad message for future events.

 

The message is:

 

"Register early to help us get a head count. But wait and register late and we'll let you on the floor early, give you free passes to the party and get you a nice room rate."

 

We'll an nice "fuc.k you" e-mail is on it's way to some poor bas. that probably had nothing to do with it.

I wonder, did anyone going to Vegas get tix for the Sigfreed & Roy Show? Are they giving refunds? Tickets to a different show? No idea why I'm asking this.....

It appears ticket sales are not up to expectations. There is talk of moving the Big halloween party to a room half the size.My friend owns the logistics and staffing company contracted for the two parties and as of last week,he is providing a minimal crew as the promoters have not asked for the expected additions.

I actually wrote a civil letter to one of the organizers and they are upgrading our registration to the one offered in the Econo Pack. They seem to be nice folks who are only trying to up attendance by offering a sweeter deal. They just didn't go about it in a very professional way. Punishing early registrants isn't a good way to make friends or repeat customers.

Probably because for one night at Mandalay Bay on a weekend it costs about the same as the whole economy package.

No, not switching. I like the Gold Coast. It's just off the strip, but close enough to walk and it's more my kind of place.

I was wrong. They aren't making it right. I misunderstood what the dipsh.it was saying. They were only offering me the chance to "upgrade" by buying the "econo pack" and canceling my other reservation. I'd loose $25 on the deal if I did that. I'll be skipping the party Friday night. The thought of giving any more money directly to the con leaves me with a "dirty feeling". The $90 registration fee is all they'll be getting from me. I'll go out of my way and spend more money elsewhere before I do any more to support this con (con? ).

 

This is looking more and more like a weekend in Vegas where there also happens to be a comic convention I may drop in on.

There are worse places to spend a weekend.That's how it's shaping up for me also.There are some great costume partys all over down that nite anyway. ghostbar, whiskey sky,many more.

Yea, I'm not worrying about what I'll be doing on Halloween in Vegas. There will be plenty of parties that don't hit you for $18 at the door.

 

Not to mention the fact that I'm sure the con party won't have many half naked women either and Vegas just isn't Vegas without that.

Agree on the second part,not so sure about the first pont. Two years ago,I made the rounds on halloween courtesy of an all events pass that one of the radio stations was selling to raise money for the laid off casino workers(Vegas got hit very hard by Sept. 11th fallout) and most of the top casino clubs were raping people at the door. Most clubs were $20 and up for men, with a slight discount for the locals.
