Question for the Pulp gang.

 

Is the 1923 story "The Thing of a Thousand Shapes" by Otis Adelbert Kline considered inspiration for the multiple Science Fiction "The Thing" movies? Same as John W. Cambell Jr's(Don Stewart) 1938 "Who goes there?"

 

Because it sure reads that way to me, although it was never credited.
