As I recall, Dringenberg & Malcolm Jones III did the first installment of Season of Mists, the one with the first 6 Endless. Then Kelly Jones did most of the rest, with at least one fill-in (the dead boy detectives by George Pratt).

 

I thought Kelley Jones' work was wonderfully Wrightson-esque!

This comes from a coin collector so what do I know.

 

1) Sam Kieth and Mike Drinngenberg were artists in first three issues and Malcom Jones III took over for Sam Kieth on issue 4(yes I am cheeting I have Preludes and Nocturnes book1 in front of me

 

2) back in late 80's there was a death mini series that blew me away and got me intoduced to Gaiman

 

3) For a starting poinrt i would recomend book 1 because it gives the story on the origins of the charictor and the storys in it are pretty good.
