Marvel & Archie Halloween Ashcans Ship, Now Available for Reorder

Diamond News, Diamond Daily, Wednesday, October 08, 2003

Diamond customers wanting to offer consumers a seasonal surprise or a valued sales tool -- or both -- during this Halloween sales season can do so with Marvel Comics' Spidey and the Mini-Marvels Halloween Ashcan 2003 and Archie Comics' Archie Halloween Ashcan 2003, both of which ship this week.

The 24-page, full-color Spidey and the Mini-Marvels Halloween Ashcan 2003 (JUL030003J, $3.75) features the "Mini-Marvel" versions of Spider-Man and Venom, while the 16-page, full-color Archie Halloween Ashcan 2003 (JUL030002J, $3.00) follows Archie and the gang as the students vie for the coveted title of King and Queen of the Ghouls at Riverdale High's Monster-Bash 2003!

Both Ashcans are sold in bundles of 25, and are sized to fit easily in most shopping (or trick-or-treat) bags, and include an ad bearing the toll-free number of the Comic Shop Locator Service, making them perfect for giving away or for selling to customers to use as their own treats.

Retailers can reorder additional bundles of both Ashcans through their Diamond Customer Service Representative, or via Reorders Online.

I have left the Diamond item code and cost in the message, so you can give the item code to your local retailer. The cost is your retailer's net cost per bundle (so the Spideys are 15c each and the Archies are 12c each). Your retailer also pays freight charges to receive these, which will probably be around 2c-4c per book depending on the distance from the nearest Diamond Drop Point. Take that into account when you evaluate his price on them.

If your retailer gets his order in by next Tuesday morning (the 14th), he'll have these in plenty of time for Halloween.
