Noobie OA Question

I only own a few pages and am a novice in this subject. I own some OA from various books/issues. Are these OA pages typically ink-only? ...Are the pencils underneath the ink somewhere? Or...are these pages more typically a SCAN of pencils which have been inked over?

Depends on the era. Traditionally, OA is pencilled and inked on the same page. However in the last decade or so, it has been increasingly common for the pencils and inks to be on seperate pages.
