PGM DEFENDERS #1 (POSSIBLE PRINTING DEFECTS)

5 posts in this topic

I am thinking this book was Mangled by Marvel during the printing process, but am not educated enough about the printing process to understand exactly how this could have been the result. The paper hanging out along the top edge looks like it was torn from another book that was not properly cut from this one. There are several pages near the back of the book that are not cut along the top edge from the spine for about 2.5 inches, such that three pages cannot be completely opened.

Is this in fact a printing defect or is something else going on? What about the two parallel lines through the center of the cover? Is this a feature of the printing process or something that should be deducted? Without these I think this book would grade somewhere around 7.0 :)
