So I know this may not be the right forum, but just wanted to say that Mile High Comics is having a special sale where 10% of all proceeds this week are going to the families of victims from the movie theater shooting.

Coupon code HELPHEAL gets you 60% off all back issues. They have a lot of WD in there, and while prices are a little high for my taste, the 60% off makes a lot of them desirable.

Thanks! That's a classy thing to do and I'm sure that more and more of the larger comic shops and leaders in the retail market will continue to make efforts to help those who were harmed by that tragic events. Perhaps we (you, me or someone else) could create a forum in Comics General titles "efferts to help victims of the DKR tragedy" or some more appropriate title. I know there is at least one other comic shop that is donating cash to that particular cause and I see no reason not to discuss these honorable efforts to aid victims and their familes. Thank you for sharing this info in the most popular thread on the boards. I think it is safe to say that everyone is happy to hear what you reported. (thumbs u

I don't think you captured the spirit of his comment. He's not in it for the money, he likes the covers

It's not about liking TWD... It is all about investing in TWD! :insane:

Oh ... looks like I was reading too fast (I was actually reading and watching an ebay auction on Capes 1) but if thats the case I think the prior post was right on the money. You can get issues 1-52 of the Weekly for around cover price if you look around. The issues I identified are the only ones that go for more than cover price in lots of comic shops and depending on where you are I can tell you one shop in Morgantown, West Virginia that has about 40 issues for cover price (I snagged the keys, but the rest are there). There's also a WD Hardcover that collects some of the best covers.

Question. I know that back issues of WD can get pricey, but what about copies of WD Weekly?

i like the covers of WD, but not enough to break the bank on the regular floppies. i was in a store today and was able to pick up a few different copies of WD Weekly for just above cover price. that was very pleasing to me.

There are some covers id like to own, and ultimately put on my wall in a picture frame. Obviously spending top dollar is not a priority for this type of thing.

what would be a good price to pay for the following covers?

Weekly:

6, 7, 8, 15, 17, 33, 36 and 48

and if im to understand correctly, the "Weekly"'s stopped at 49?

In my opinion the only issues of the WD Weekly that are worth buying are issues 1, (maybe 2 and/or 3 and/or 10), 19, 27, 33 and 48. What's everyone else think>

I'm not gonna lie, I'm a big fan of the print run of WD Weekly and believe it presents a greater challenge to collect than WD.

When it comes down to it the Weekly's are just reprints. Personally I sold all the Weeklys I had, even my 1-4 copies, even though I'm missing those from from my regular set. They're just reprints which can serve as nice "replacement" copies for collectors who haven't got originals of that particular issue in the same way that "Image Firsts" do for Issue #1 of many series.

STAY AWAY from Mile High. Please for the love of all things holy. This guy is a scumbag. Their business practices are horrendous, and I can guarantee that anything that comes from this sale will not benefit anyone from this tragedy.

You want to support this? Go donate blood at a local bank. This individual_without_enough_empathy is trying to line his pockets by using a terrible life event. He did the same thing when the twihard fan was killed at SDCC.

Even living locally to this trash it's best to avoid at all costs.

Bah! Im in Brooklyn a couple times a year actually as i have family next to Prospect Park! I reside in Florida, unless that chicken salad is "literally" not to miss, I'll have to knock on someone else's door tonight. :shy:

I actually liked the bottom just a squeeze more, but anyway, you selling that?

lol we are probably neighbors - I live 5 blocks from prospect park - take my dogs all the time!

Really?

I'm moving to Queens soon, I'll be in that general area.

Still catching up on thread but I rank Morgan's telling us about what happened to Duane and Morgan not being able to kill him as way up there in the disturbing part for me. Part of it has to be that I have kids around that age and it gives me "fork biting" feelings to think about it.

Only 4 violent acts really stand apart from the rest, IMO

1. Lori and Judith

2. Tyrese

3. Carl

4. The spoon

Those twin girls in the prison.

That one just misses the cut on my list. The reasoning being, I had no emotional involvement in the girls and it was hard to figure exactly what happened. Issue 100 misses the cut too because the art just kind of took me out of the moment.

I get it. My daughter was under 5 when I read that.

So what is everyone's thoughts on these #100 Chromium covers. After looking over the 115 Chromium copies I received it looked to me like the majority of them have either some cracking or a true split in the seem of the cover where it was folded over and stapled to the book. When you look at the spine on these all but 3 of the 115 I received had a small split or crack which you could easily feel if you ran your finger over it.

I am wondering if these will be graded really hard or if this type of defect will be looked over.

Also some random WD picture porn.

Negan, I like this guy. No wildly_fanciful_statement type that would run rampant in a world overrun by the dead.

To think that the world would be full of helpful people is naive and would lead to a short post apocalyptic lifespan.

I don't get attached to characters in stories. When a character is killed off, I don't get upset or angry. Maybe I'm not as fulfilled as others who get emotionally involved with the characters in a story. I did like the character dynamic in 100, I'd prefer the story now follow negan's saviors versus Rick and company at this point.

Even though the issue was a let down to me, it has given me something that I haven't had since the cannibals. Excitement, I do want to see how this new war will resolve itself.

And if for whatever reason Glenn is not dead...I quit. Almost did with the wildly_fanciful_statement with Carl living (regardless if adlard made the wound worse than it was supposed to be) with the holland tunnel throught the right side of his head.

Just my thoughts, I hope negan doesn't get killed off anytime soon. Seems like he'd be a more interesting antagonist than the guv ever could be.
