Bring the same issue to work tomorrow, when heading over to the bathroom during break, wave it at him, roll it up, and stick it in your back pocket.

 

Fast forward 20 years...the book is much coveted and sells for $10k.

if he's a nice guy, and you have them to spare, give him a stack of these worthless 90s comics that he thinks are probably worth something (heck, throw in another X-Men 1) and let him know you're one of "us". welcome him to the hobby and you had some dupes you didn't need. if he thinks/says they're worth a lot you can be honest with him and let him know that right now comics from that era are really slow movers and aren't worth nearly as much right now...just like .com stock and houses in riverside california that went busto.
