Archival Tape

2 posts in this topic

I have a few double page spreads (separate boards) and would like to replace the crappy masking tape holding them together with archival tape. I thought there wouldn't be much to choose from, but there's framer's tape, linen tape, paper tape - sticky adhesive, pressure adhesive, gummed adhesive - different thicknesses and widths. Anyone recommend one type over another?

There is a difference between 'archival' and 'acid-free.' Check with a knowledgeable (not the quicky and cheap) framer to find out the options. Another option would be with the local art museum if they have a conservation department.
