How much does a RUSTY staple affect the grade?

I just acquired a nice silver age collection, but many of the books in this collection have rusty staples. How much do rusty staples affect the overall grade of a comic?

According to Overstreet Grading Guide, 3rd Ed., the highest grade for which rusted staples is mentioned is 7.5: "Slight rust migration allowed. . . .Any staple can be replaced on books up to Fine, but only vintage staples can be used on books from Very Fine to Near Mint. Mint books must have original staples." I would grade the book aside from the staples, and then factor in degree of rust and migration and lower grade accordingly.
