Can anyone put a scan of the back of a counterfeit "TMNT" #1 so I can see exactly what it looks like. I read the O.S explanation but want to see it in a picture, thanks to anyone that can help foreheadslap.gif

??? Ken, that copy of yours is a counterfeit... sorry man. sorry.gifJust look at the scratch marks on the back cover, that's the easiest way to tell on your particular copy. Also, the shade of black on the front cover will be slightly different. Original has a glossy black cover. Counterfeit is more of a muted black.

Thanks, but can someone step up and actually put a scan of one up! I have had three dealers say that it could be thought of a a counterfeit but it is not, the back is not exactly what ones that they had in hand looked like, theres were more prominent, best bet would just send it in to Steve at CGC and let them handle it. If anyone gets a scan before that please post.

thanks in advance fellow forumite for your knowledge

Honestly, I'd be embarassed to be one of those 3 dealers. Next time you're at a con, just find a dealer with an original #1 and put the two side by side - the difference in color is tangible and immediately evident. I'm not trying to be an [!@#%^&^] or hate on your book, it's just that I could not be more sure. I'm as sure that it's a counterfeit as I am that the sky is blue. sorry.gif
