Tomorrow is my LAST DAY at CGC!

84 posts in this topic

Enjoy the day tomorrow Steve. It's a singular feeling to leave a place and people you love, and is not something that happens everyday. I have a feeling that even though you are stepping out into the great unknown (well not really unkown because you are simply returning to that what which you did before) that your stress level will dramatically decrease as you drive away and watch HQ fade in your rearview mirror, what CD you putting in as you drive away?

You helped shape CGC into what it is today, but you were not meant to wear a suit(so to speak) forever. Enjoy your new freedom and all the worries that uncertainty brings!

Oh yeah one last thing, don't forget to take the red stapler with you.

Good luck

:hi:

Truckin got my chips cashed in. keep truckin, like the do-dah man

Together, more or less in line, just keep truckin on.

Arrows of neon and flashing marquees out on main street.

Chicago, new york, detroit and its all on the same street.

Your typical city involved in a typical daydream

Hang it up and see what tomorrow brings.

Dallas, got a soft machine; houston, too close to new orleans;

New yorks got the ways and means; but just wont let you be, oh no.

Most of the cast that you meet on the streets speak of true love,

Most of the time theyre sittin and cryin at home.

One of these days they know they better get goin

Out of the door and down on the streets all alone.

Truckin, like the do-dah man. once told me youve got to play your hand

Sometimes your cards aint worth a dime, if you dont layem down,

Sometimes the lights all shinin on me;

Other times I can barely see.

Lately it occurs to me what a long, strange trip its been.

What in the world ever became of sweet jane?

She lost her sparkle, you know she isnt the same

Livin on reds, vitamin c, and cocaine,

All a friend can say is aint it a shame?

Truckin, up to buffalo. been thinkin, you got to mellow slow

Takes time, you pick a place to go, and just keep truckin on.

Sittin and starin out of the hotel window.

Got a tip theyre gonna kick the door in again

Id like to get some sleep before I travel,

But if you got a warrant, I guess youre gonna come in.

Busted, down on bourbon street, set up, like a bowlin pin.

Knocked down, it gets to wearin thin. they just wont let you be, oh no.

Youre sick of hangin around and youd like to travel;

Get tired of travelin and you want to settle down.

I guess they cant revoke your soul for tryin,

Get out of the door and light out and look all around.

Sometimes the lights all shinin on me;

Other times I can barely see.

Lately it occurs to me what a long, strange trip its been at.

Truckin, Im a goin home. whoa whoa baby, back where I belong,

Back home, sit down and patch my bones, and get back truckin on.

Hey now get back truckin home.

Steve,

I hope the next long strange trip is just as fun! :headbang:

Steve, all the best in future endeavours. Whatever you do I'm sure you won't be lacking in the enthusiasm department.

And now that you've got more time, why not get over to Blighty? Nice beer and cigars over here...

Best wishes, Steve, it's truly been a pleasure, I look forward to learning more from you in the future. I'm going to miss knowing that you are no longer working for CGC, your enthusiasm for your work was just catching and it gave me much more confidence in a company that once seemed very mysterious to me. I've always viewed you as a special kind of Wizard of Oz (the good kind;) I'm looking forward to seeing you post and meeting you in different venues!

Good luck to a classy guy! ( (thumbs u

You might have to relocate to NJ but it might be worth it for this position.

Steve,

To a pioneer and a great friend - I wish you all the very best of luck and happiness in your new life - I know you'll be successful and have a blast!

After tomorrow, you will officially become an aging legend and a Comic Book Collecting Hall of Famer along with Jerry Bails, Bob Overstreet, Alan Light and Ernest Gerber!

Remember, dude - go where the climate suits your clothes!

I eagerly look forward to our next encounter, with no CGC duties to use as an excuse to stay sober!

Thanks for everything over the years, buddy - I forgive you for all the books of mine you damaged!

Enjoy your chill-out time before a new chaos follows.

Speak again soon.

Wow! GD references and all! :cloud9:

I had a great last day! Cake and a suprise party from all the CGC gang and the "higher ups"! Lots of props I probably did not deserve from all!

I have never left a job on my own accored and been treated so damn well!

I really do care about staying on the boards and in touch with each and every one of you.

As my good friend Ron always says: "be strange, but not a stranger!"

LOVE YOU ALL AND SEE YA AT THE CONVENTIONS!!!!! :banana:
