Dave, any explanation as to what is going on with this month's show? I've received inquiries regarding it's status as it shows a July date on the mailer but no info on comicconventions.com or your show info webpage.

We recently had to let a long-time comic book dealer go because of attendee complaints. No dealer will ever be more important than our attendees

Who was this?

Dave, off-topic but I was curious, do you own Jetpack Comics?

Wish we had someone like you running regular shows out here.

Marc

No, we do not own Jetpack Comics but I highly recommend them for their integrity in a business where too many will sell their soul for the next dollar that comes along.

Veteran DC Hall of Fame artist and all-around nice guy Murphy Anderson has confirmed that he will be our guest in Boston September 28. Murphy does very few shows. It will great to see him and his Q & A's are always fun.

Nice! Murphy Anderson... time to start figuring out what I'd like him to sign...

So much great artwork!

No kidding! I just saw him on the Legends panel at the NYCC a couple months ago, but hadn't gotten anything together for him to sign.

So much great artwork!

One of my comic related highlights was finally meeting him at a show in White Plains NY a few years ago. Great guy. Super nice and a fantastic talent.

Small Press space is filling fast but we still have a few prime location spaces in the center of the show.

Special guest will be long time Silver Age DC legend Science Fiction artist Murphy Anderson.

There will also be many local comic book creators. We have a few spaces left for aspiring local artists and writers.

Tens of thousands of New England Comic Book fans have enjoyed previous editions of the popular longtime Boston Comic Book Spectacular which started in 1975 when the hotel was known as Howard Johnson's 57. It is Boston's largest Comic Book and Record/CD convention and the longest-running show of its kind in the same location in the United States. The show features over 12,000 square feet and 130 tables of comic books and their creators, original comic art, and toys, plus a media room with thousands of collectible CDs, Records and cassettes from rock to rap and thousands of hard to find and collectible feature movies of all genre on both DVD and VHS.

The convention will also showcase local favorites and space is still available for aspiring local artists and writers.

New England's finest collectibles dealers will be there with over a million comic books and thousands of hard-to-find CDs and Records. Monkeyhouse Entertainment also runs conventions in Portland, Hartford and New York City but Boston is their hometown and will always be their home show.

The Boston Comic Book, CD/Record & Movie Spectacular will be held Sunday, September 28, at the Boston Radisson Hotel, 200 Stuart St., 6th floor Convention Center. The comic and toy show will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Music/Movie room will open at 9:30 a.m.

Admission is just $7 or $6 with the discount coupon which can be found at the show's web site (www.monkeyhouseentertainment.com) or at many fine comic and collectibles stores throughout New England (see the web site for a list). Come in costume as your favorite comic book character and pay just $5 to get in. Children under 10 admitted free. There are many parking options and the T’s Boylston stop nearby.

First time to that show in about 20 years! I was really happy to meet with Murphy Anderson, talk to him a little about his starting out doing illustrations during his time in the service and to thank him for his great work over the years.

I only got there at the end, but still enjoyed myself!

Thanks for a nice show!
