Bare-Assed Spidey!! (or Hilarious Colorist Mishaps)

76 posts in this topic

Just ran across this and thought it would brighten a few days if posted.

Looks like Glynis Wein may have been fantasizing about Spidey and perhaps subconsciously made a coloring snafu on page 17 of issue______? (trivia). I assume this is Len's Wife?

Anyway, after forgetting to "completely" color Spidey's bicep and forearm in the first panel leaving it pink to appear as "flesh", she apparently left 'ol spidey completely "bare-assed" in the 4th. The crude among us will also note that spidey appears to be "farting" some of his thoughts in that panel.

:roflmao:

Anyone else got any?

Notice that with his pants off the title of man is taken away from "Spider-Man" hm

The inker must have been swooned by one of the underground comix publishers at the time and needed something in his portfolio... ;)

...or maybe Glynis was a little "frisky" because Len was spending all his time developing a new character with claws to fight the Hulk. Blame it all on Hulk 180

You know, I seem to recall a lot of pink discolorations of Spidey through the years, and no, don't go there. (tsk)

Mostly with issues in the 20-25 cent covers.

They got sloppy in the early BA with QP both inside and outside the books.

:censored:
