FK, look at it from my point of view, would you be thrilled if someone posted they will take it less than a min after listing, and then immediately starts talking about returning the item?

As a seller, aren't you trying to avoid returns as much as possible as well? Isn't it a fair thing to ask that the buyer look at the very clear pics closely, ask any questions before buying, so as to hopefully avoid the possibility of a return?

I don't see what i've done wrong here.

I've been selling/trading in comics/art for over 20 years. Virtually every single major dealer know's me by name/face. I have helped write numerous articles on the hobby and fandom. I was once asked by Steve Borock before CGC existed to be the restoration expert, instead I recommended my good friend Chris Friesen. I could go on.

Who are you?

Great references! (worship)But most of us here probably only know you by your screen name: Monster's CollIf you are a part time dealer you might have posted a business card or just given your proper name before selling $5K raw books. This hobby is a mine field as you must know if you've been in it for 20 years. :DGood luck to you sir and to the buyers of these stunning looking gems. :luhv:

I find it interesting how 'my' thread has gone from an attack on me for, you got it, -Accepting returns-, to now a grading forum post - unlike any others i've seen.

You haven't been here long have you. :kidaround:

I could get rich selling all the thread krapping around here as fertilizer.

My name is Ken Danker. I don't do much dealing in comics or art any more. Pretty much just a collector selling off some things. You can see full page ads of mine in the 98&99 price guides (if I remember right?). Don't have a business card any more.I wonder what would have happened if I had gone the complete opposite direction with all this? Like: No returns, over charged for shipping, crappy pics, everything graded MINT!, and don't respond to messages other than to collect the payments - IE: like 99% of ebay sellers now-a-days? I would love to see the 'craps' taken, then!Who know's? Because of my lovely experience today, maybe others will think twice before doing the same thing? I know I will! :D

You have a good memory. I just checked my '98 Overstreet and your full-page ad is on page 180. I take it you're not in Lilburn, GA anymore. Are you with Cliff Wiener in Boca Raton, FL?

No, i'm in central FL now. Cliff is still in Boca, though. Was that my Jack Cole electric chair cover ad? One of my first photoshop attempts.

You can't grade a book from a scan unless the book is in a CGC holder with a pretty blue label on top. If you aren't willing to back up your grading of raw books by offering a full refund, then you ought not be selling high dollar books here. Period. And you certainly shouldn't be a jerk about it when someone suggests that he might like to send your book back if he feels the grade given a $2000 book is jacked up.

Eh, you just need some thick skin a sense of humor. But the silliness can get the best of the best of us here at times too. Like Aces said, this place can be loaded with drama at times. If you can get through it initially though, it's a fantastic place with some really great members.

I just got back from vacation, and all I got was this lousy thread

Kidding aside, some nice books in there. I even remember the name Ken Danker from my collecting years ago. I think I may have even bought a few things from you.....do you remember sending books up to Alaska? Nice books.....any TOS you want to pm me about with scans.....I'm looking for F/VF or better between 41 and 61 for decent prices.

Hello,

I think I do recall selling books to someone in Alaska, but for the life of me I can't recall what anymore. \:\(

I don't have any TOS anymore. Sold the only one I had - a raw 4.5 TOS #39 to comicgrinder here on the board a month or so ago.

Thanks!

Hmmm... even though I can't remember the books, nor what I graded them, but if you decide to get them CGC'd and they come back less than the grade I said they were, PLEASE send them back for a FULL REFUND of your original purchase price.

Thanks!
