My amp broke last night, so time to upgrade

Hmm.. I have been playing through the same crate amp for years . Would love to upgrade to an old (80's) ampeg solid state head, and a nice marshall cabinet.

 

I play mostly metal..

We packed it in a few years ago. Guitarist quit when we were leaving for a 3 month tour. I never went back after that. Booked shows from Illinois, down to GA, and back up to Boston. I just couldnt do it again.

Back in the 70's I had an AMPEG BT-140 bass amp with two 15" inch Altec Lansings. Clean, clean bass for my Gibson EB-3. Still have the bass but it needs restoration. The Ampeg beast is gone. (Where's the sad emoticon?)

The solid state ampeg I am speaking of is where alot of metal, and hardcore bands got there sounds from. My 2nd guitarist had one, and it was amazing.

Yea after 4 or 5 years with that band. And about 11 different members. I was the only original when I closed up shop. Only thing I have done since then was some tracks for a street cd (rap)

I currently have a Marshall DSL 2000 100watt. love it. played with late 80s Kramer American series Baretta's.
