The Best of Marvel Comics hardcover

Anyone still have this book lying around? I dug out all my hardcovers the other day in order to properly display them on my work desk ... well, the shelf was empty, and I figured why not ... and re-discovered this book. It came out in '87 as what I guess is a response to DC's "The Greatest ______ Stories Ever Told" series.

 

So, I flipped through it again and I'm thinking, "Whaa?" I really wonder why in the world they chose the stories they chose for this book. I mean, ya, they are pretty good, but "The Best?" I think not.

 

I do like the whole package though, it's quite sharp. I guess they never got around to a volume 2 huh? heh

Not a Marvel guy but sounds like a nice book.

 

It is pretty cool...just questioning the stories touted as "The Best..." :) The story from ASM 248 I have always liked but the others? Then again, what would you include in a "The Best of Marvel Comics" compilation?
