It was a very interesting time. We all eagerly awaited the next weekly issue of CBG, and poured through every ad for items off our want list. Of course, us left coasters were at a disadvantage, receiving our copies a day or two later than a lot of other folks.

I remember those days. Wonder how tuff it would be to get ahold of a particular issue of CBG? There was a contest in one featuring Lena the Hyena by Basil Wolverton.....and people who entered the contest were to try and draw an equally UGLY person.....winners to be announced with pictures in an issue of CBG. I'm pretty sure that a friend and I both got our submissions posted .......I'm sure he did.....but maybe I'm just hopefully remembering that I also did.
