Is that a tape pull at the spine of the ASM #64, just above the LS?

 

And what's the smegma on the CLEBC of the ASM #69? hm

Yes divad those are the detractors that I refer to ! Before I got it out of the bag I did not notice the tape pull. The book's cover is snow white as is the PQ and this is a tough cover. The 69 has very deep rich colors except for the ?? on the back cover was also one of those out of bag surprises. PQ White/OW.

I think your scans are too small and your contrast is set too high. There's a lot of wash out in the whites.

You're right, can't let those scanners auto adjust color levels like that.
