Probably someone that read about the ever impending crash on here! But with most of those prices, they will probably sit until the 2nd movie comes out I bet.

ASM 3 CGC 9.0 - Seller's Grading Comments: "Restored - top edge of cover trimmed, staples replaced. Off-white pages"

 

Wow. Is that really how bad the PLOD affects a books value? The asking price is only $750 and the book guides at $2675. I certainly would not mind the replaced staples that much, if anything this may have stopped rust migration onto the paper. The top edge being trimmed might bother me a little, but its not like all the edges have been trimmed.

 

For that price I would buy it, break the slab, put it in mylar, and then just admire how nice it looked.

Well, SM2 is only a half a year away. And with the trailer coming out next month, that might increase interest a bit again....maybe not. Still, no denying those are some pretty books. No ASM # 14 though.

Yeah - I am sure some enterprising individual might think of auctioning outside the cgc case as an unrestored pristine near mint beauty. I bet that it would be very difficult to detect the work that was done on it unless you are a real expert.
