if any of you fine forumites who live in the nicer climate of the US can help me on this, I would owe you big time.

 

 

I need a filler neck for a 97 Ford Escort wagon. Vehicle belongs to the nicest 87 year old customer I know. Problem is Ford discontinued making this and every junkyard around here does not have one that isn't severly rotted.

 

It would cost way too much to have one made and I don't see any other alternative for her if I can't find a used one.

 

If there are any junkyards in your local area or maybe by chance a Ford dealership has one by luck, give me a shout and I will pay for your time and the part.

Yes. A little rusted is OK but this one is severly rotted and no way to cut and weld it.

Im waiting for a call back from one yard, they are sending someone to check. The other 2 are no-go. Hopefully they have it. The yard is massive.

I couldn't find a filler neck on the list, but maybe it has another name. I remember having to replace one on a Bronco I used to have. Freakin' Ford couldn't just make a straight tube with one diameter. Bastards.
